Job Description

SUMMARY:

Plumber is a highly skilled professional who installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems in both residential and commercial buildings, often overseeing projects, interpreting complex blueprints, and ensuring compliance with local plumbing codes, while also training and supervising apprentice plumbers; essentially representing the highest level of expertise within the plumbing trade

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Repairs and replaces all plumbing related devices and/or equipment.
  • Maintains fluid systems throughout the corporation.
  • Monitors water conservation, repairing leaks as necessary.
  • Unclogs sanitary and raw drain systems.
  • Maintains insulation of all heated and chilled water piping.
  • Routinely inspects all plumbing equipment throughout the corporation identifying potential problems and resolving same.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of materials related to plumbing.
  • Ensures structural integrity of existing plumbing systems, making recommendations for improvements, as appropriate.
  • Installs new plumbing systems as needed; constructs shelves and storage areas; repair walls and ceilings.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of plumbing standards and codes that apply to hotel plumbing systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required. Typically requires a journeyman plumber license and passing a state-administered master plumber exam Must have three years plumbing experience and must be able to read blueprints of plumbing systems. Welding experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as technical journals, policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.

The Employee is regularly required to climb a twelve-foot ladder.

The Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The Employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and danger of exposure to various chemicals used in the maintenance of the property.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor or mechanical rooms, the noise level increases.

The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat.

Minimal contact with Guests. Frequent contact with Employees. Moderate contact with Vendors.

  • Face-to-face / in person: Moderate to high level of interaction with Vendors. Minimal to frequent interaction with Employees and Guests.
  • Telephone interactions: Frequent interaction with Vendors and Employees, minimal to guests.
