What You’ll Do
Position Summary
The Transportation Scheduler (TS) works in partnership with the Dispatch Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate processing of trip schedules on a real time, or near-real time basis. The individual in this role also serves as back-up to the Dispatch Coordinator as needed and may perform tasks including, but not limited to, batching trips for next day service, matching trips and driver availability, reviewing schedules after batching and rearrange trips based upon gaps in driver shifts and schedules. All work is performed while in frequent contact with peers, clinic co-workers and drivers to ensure patients receive the best service possible. The person in this position must be able to combine excellent computer skills with above average people skills to successfully fulfill the duties of the role.
Responsibilities
- Manage trip assignments and completions real time/near real time via electronic ride system
- Continuous communication with co-workers to verify patient pick-up and drop-off
- Daily quality checks on upcoming trips
- Assist with next-day preparations to include tasks such as running batch jobs, reviewing and adjusting trip assignments and/or drivers’ schedules
What You’ll Bring
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Fluent oral Spanish and English skills
- Strong reading and writing English skills
- 1 year customer service experience required; healthcare industry preferred
- 1 year + transit experience with computerized scheduling or dispatching required; experience with Momentm or Novus systems preferred
- Ability to remain focused and address rapid-fire questions and issues orderly, timely, and accurately
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and respond to alerts on multiple platforms/applications simultaneously
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a service attitude
- Team player with strong personal accountability and sense of urgency
- Ability to work independently and maintain excellence in service
- Effective problem-solving skills
Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year of college preferred
