Position Overview:

The Cervey Product Owner is responsible for the strategic direction, optimization, and ongoing development of TrueScripts' Cervey claims administration platform. This role serves as the primary business owner and subject-matter expert for Cervey, partnering closely with Claims, Operations, IT, Analytics, Compliance, Client Services, and other stakeholders to ensure the platform effectively supports TrueScripts' business, operational, regulatory, and client needs.

The Cervey Product Owner translates business requirements into actionable product priorities, maintains the Cervey product roadmap, prioritizes enhancements, oversees requirements and testing, and ensures system changes deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Own the overall Cervey product vision, strategy, roadmap, and backlog.
  • Establish priorities for Cerve enhancements based on business value, operational needs, regulatory requirements, risk, and organizational strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a forward-looking Cervey product roadmap.
  • Partner with executive and business leaders to understand organizational priorities and translate them into Cervey capabilities and enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Cervey to improve efficiency, automation, scalability, accuracy, and the member/client experience.
  • Evaluate the long-term implications of configuration and technology decisions to ensure solutions are scalable and sustainable.

Business Requirements & Product Development

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams for Cervey-related initiatives.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Translate complex claims and business requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate solution options and determine the best approach within Cervey.
  • Ensure requirements are clearly understood before development or configuration begins.
  • Challenge requirements and recommend alternative solutions when appropriate.
  • Maintain and prioritize the Cervey product backlog.

Claims Administration & Adjudication

  • Maintain a strong understanding of pharmacy claims administration and adjudication.
  • Ensure Cervey functionality and configuration appropriately support business rules and claims requirements.
  • Partner with Claims and Operations to understand complex issues and identify sustainable system solutions.
  • Evaluate the impact of proposed changes on claims processing, downstream systems, reporting, clients, and members.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes through system functionality and automation.
  • Ensure product decisions consider both operational requirements and the long-term scalability of the platform.

Cervey Configuration & Enhancements

  • Partner with technical resources and Cervey experts to define and implement system enhancements.
  • Review and approve proposed configuration changes.
  • Ensure configuration decisions align with approved product requirements and business objectives.
  • Maintain awareness of Cervey capabilities, limitations, releases, and enhancements.
  • Identify functionality that is underutilized or could provide additional business value.
  • Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders when Cervey functionality requires integration with other platforms or vendors.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Establish appropriate testing requirements for Cervey enhancements and releases.
  • Develop or oversee test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure changes are thoroughly validated before production deployment.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing and final product acceptance.
  • Ensure regression testing is completed when changes may affect existing claims functionality.
  • Monitor post-production results and address defects or unintended impacts.
  • Establish a disciplined process for evaluating and approving production changes.

Product Roadmap & Release Management

  • Maintain a prioritized Cervey roadmap that aligns with TrueScripts' strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate product releases and enhancements with IT, Claims, Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate upcoming changes, expected impacts, and timelines to affected teams.
  • Evaluate release priorities and competing requests.
  • Ensure product documentation is maintained throughout the product lifecycle.

Audit, Compliance & Regulatory Support

  • Partner with Compliance and business teams to ensure Cervey supports regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Provide product expertise during Market Conduct Audits, regulatory audits, client audits, and other examinations.
  • Assist in validating system configuration and claims processing requirements.
  • Identify and prioritize system changes necessary to address regulatory or audit findings.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation exists to support product decisions and system functionality.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Continuously evaluate Cervey-related processes for opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Identify manual processes that could be automated through Cervey functionality or integrations.
  • Partner with Operations and IT to redesign processes rather than simply automate inefficient existing workflows.
  • Establish measurable outcomes for major product enhancements.
  • Use data and operational feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the central point of accountability for Cervey product decisions.
  • Facilitate collaboration among Claims, Operations, IT, Analytics, Compliance, Client Services, and otherstakeholders.
  • Communicate complex technical and claims concepts in a way that is understandable to diverse audiences.
  • Build strong partnerships with technical teams and external Cervey resources.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand product priorities, tradeoffs, timelines, and expected outcomes.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and leadership without necessarily having direct people-management responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Significant hands-on experience with Cervey in a claims administration, claims adjudication, business analysis, product, implementation, or technology role.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy claims processing and adjudication.
  • Demonstrated understanding of claims configuration, business rules, testing, and system functionality.
  • Experience translating business requirements into system requirements or solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system and claims issues.
  • Strong understanding of system testing and release processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily remote position with some travel to the TrueScripts office in Washington, Indiana, for meetings, team events, training, and cultural activities as needed
  • Estimated 20-25% travel required
