Location: Chicago Plant – Chicago, IL
Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
Salary: $75,000+ per year, based on experience
JTM Foods, LLC is seeking a hands-on, motivated Production Supervisor to join our Chicago bakery team. This position is responsible for overseeing daily production operations while ensuring compliance with company standards, food safety requirements, quality expectations, and workplace safety programs.

Requirements: Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily production operations and ensure adherence to company standards, policies, and operating procedures.
- Supervise production lines and shift employees to meet production schedules, quality standards, and output goals.
- Assist with staffing, training, coaching, and scheduling of production team members.
- Promote a positive work environment while holding employees accountable for performance and company expectations.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety requirements, and corporate safety programs.
- Maintain standard formulas and production operating procedures.
- Conduct and/or assist with required safety meetings and employee training.
- Ensure equipment is properly operated and maintained in accordance with GMP and safety requirements.
- Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Sanitation, Quality, and other departments to address production and facility needs.
- Troubleshoot production, process, and equipment issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Complete and maintain required production, process, safety, and compliance documentation.
- Support GFSI certification requirements and company food safety initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure the timely production and delivery of quality products.
- Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and productivity.
- Uphold accountability for Food Safety, Legality, Authenticity, and Quality (Food-SLAQ).
- Ensure all employees follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in bakery production, food manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Baking Science, Food Science, Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of bakery production processes, equipment, and operations.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
- Strong organizational, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot production processes and equipment issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to learn and utilize SAP or similar production management systems.
- Strong commitment to food safety, quality, workplace safety, and continuous improvement.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
- Ability to work a 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM schedule and support production needs.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in an active food-manufacturing. The employee may work around moving machinery, energized equipment, elevated work areas, noise, dust (including ingredient dust), refrigerants, cleaning agents, lubricants, and other chemicals. Work may involve hot, cold, humid, or otherwise variable temperatures. Required personal protective equipment and established safety procedures must be used.

- Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, and use stairs; periodically sit while completing administrative or computer-based work.

- Climb ladders or access elevated work areas when required and when authorized and trained to do so.

- Work safely in areas where exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, and heights may occur, using required controls and personal protective equipment.
