About TOURISTS Welcome
TOURISTS is a boutique lifestyle hotel in North Adams, MA, situated on a 55-acre nature campus just down the road from MASS MoCA and the Clark Art Institute. Set on the banks of the Hoosic River, TOURISTS is designed for the 21st century traveler. The property is a union of design and nature, home to woodland trails, riverbank vistas, sculptural installations and more. Using common, organic materials, the rooms serve as both haven and trailhead, connecting guests with their vacation selves and serving as a basecamp for exploration and adventure.
Since opening in July 2018, TOURISTS has received numerous accolades, and our greatest point of pride is our staff; the kind, hard-working, and dedicated folks who work at TOURISTS are the reason guests have a memorable, unique experience/stay and keep coming back to the Berkshires every year.
Front Desk Agent — TOURISTS
What you'll do
- Own the front desk: check guests in and out with warmth, confidence, and efficiency
- Handle reservations — for the hotel, restaurant, pool, and our art & adventure programs — whether guests call ahead or walk in
- Answer phones and guest questions with a courteous, can-do attitude
- Anticipate needs before guests even ask
- Keep a sharp daily log of guest concerns, requests, and how they were resolved
- Loop in the right departments fast when something needs fixing, updating, or following up on
- Step up as the go-to problem-solver for guest concerns when the Guest Experience Manager or GM isn't around
- Keep your workspace clean, safe, and organized
What you bring
- Experience in hospitality or customer service industry
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication skills — written and verbal
- Comfort with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets) and general computer/PMS systems
- An eye for detail and basic math skills (yes, even a little algebra)
- Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
Good to know
- You'll be on your feet a lot — standing, walking, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs
- This is a high-visibility, high-energy role in a fast-moving environment
- No two shifts are exactly alike — flexibility and a great attitude go a long way here
If you thrive on making people feel taken care of and want to be part of a team that genuinely values hospitality, we'd love to hear from you.
