Dual Hotel Chief Engineer in Lakewood Ranch, Florida at Zieg Hospitality Corporation

POSITION SUMMARY
The Dual Hotel Chief Engineer provides hands-on leadership for the engineering and maintenance operations of both the EVEN Hotel Sarasota–Lakewood Ranch and Fairfield Inn. This position is responsible for property condition, preventive maintenance, building systems, safety, brand compliance, maintenance personnel, vendors, contractors and capital projects across both hotels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations for both hotel properties.
• Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, kitchen, laundry, pool and guest-room systems.
• Develop, execute and document preventive-maintenance programs and timely completion of work orders.
• Conduct routine property inspections; identify repair, safety, life-safety and capital needs.
• Recruit, train, schedule and supervise maintenance team members; establish clear performance standards.
• Coordinate and oversee vendors, contractors, service agreements and required inspections.
• Maintain compliance with IHG/EVEN and Marriott/Fairfield brand standards, OSHA and applicable regulations.
• Manage engineering expenses, parts/tool inventory, utilities and energy-conservation opportunities.
• Support annual budgets, capital planning and renovation projects; communicate progress, risks and priorities to hotel leadership.
• Provide emergency/on-call support for critical building or operational issues at either property.
QUALIFICATIONS
3–5+ years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience preferred; prior Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer or comparable facilities leadership experience strongly preferred. Multi-property and hotel renovation/capital-project experience is highly desirable. Strong working knowledge of HVAC, CPO certification, electrical, plumbing, life-safety and general building systems. Must demonstrate strong leadership, organization, budgeting, vendor-management and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation between properties required.
COMPENSATION
Salary based on experience, technical expertise, certifications and multi-property leadership background.
