Pay Range: $70,000–$90,000 annually, plus bonus opportunity
Compensation Note: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and licensing. Candidates who hold a current Texas Master Electrician License may be considered for compensation above the posted range. This position is also eligible for a performance-based bonus.
Position SummaryGrasten Power Technologies is seeking an experienced Head of Installation Operations to lead and continuously improve generator installation performance throughout the Texas territory.
This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for developing installation leaders and field teams, increasing installation capacity, improving operational efficiency, protecting installation quality, and ensuring we consistently deliver on our commitments to customers.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of residential standby generator installations along with demonstrated leadership experience. We are looking for someone who can develop people, create accountability, improve crew performance, identify operational constraints, and turn strategy into consistent field execution.
This position will be an active member of the Territory Leadership Team and will partner closely with Sales, Administration, Service, Warehouse, and other operational leaders.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation Strategy & Operations- Lead the overall execution strategy for generator installations throughout the territory.
- Translate company goals, backlog requirements, forecasts, and customer commitments into installation capacity and production plans.
- Identify operational constraints and implement practical solutions to improve installation throughput.
- Develop strategies around crew capacity, scheduling, staffing, geographic deployment, equipment, materials, and workflow.
- Maintain visibility into upcoming installation demand and ensure appropriate staffing and capacity.
- Continuously improve installation cycle time, productivity, quality, and predictability.
- Ensure company installation standards and procedures are consistently followed.
- Coach and develop Branch Coordinators and other installation leaders through regular interaction, field observation, feedback, and accountability.
- Build leaders who can effectively manage employees, solve problems, communicate expectations, and deliver results.
- Identify high-potential employees and create development opportunities for future crew leads, supervisors, coordinators, and installation leaders.
- Establish clear expectations for productivity, professionalism, craftsmanship, safety, and customer experience.
- Address performance concerns quickly and constructively.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and leadership development.
- Drive installation efficiencies that improve both the customer experience and gross profit.
- Monitor operational drivers including labor hours, crew productivity, materials usage, overtime, rework, callbacks, equipment utilization, scheduling efficiency, travel time, and installation cycle time.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate waste, reduce unnecessary costs, and increase crew output.
- Use operational data and KPIs to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Communicate installation performance, risks, and corrective actions to territory leadership.
- Balance productivity and profitability with safety, quality, employee development, and long-term operational sustainability.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for generator installation operations.
- Maintain strong knowledge of residential standby generator installation practices, including electrical, gas, generator placement, transfer switches, permitting, inspections, startup, and commissioning.
- Routinely visit jobsites to observe installation practices, coach employees, and maintain visibility with field crews.
- Monitor installation quality and implement corrective action when standards are not met.
- Support the development and improvement of installation standards, training materials, best practices, and field procedures.
- Assist with complex technical or customer installation issues when escalation is necessary.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and developing installation personnel.
- Evaluate crew structure and staffing requirements based on installation demand.
- Develop training programs for new and existing installation employees.
- Maintain succession planning for critical installation leadership positions.
- Ensure tools, vehicles, equipment, and operational resources are properly maintained and effectively utilized.
- Establish consistent operating rhythms for installation meetings, performance reviews, training, and leadership development.
- Significant experience in generator installation, electrical construction, residential mechanical/electrical operations, or a closely related field.
- Strong working knowledge of residential standby generator installation processes.
- Demonstrated experience leading field employees, crews, supervisors, or operational leaders.
- Proven ability to coach and develop employees into leadership roles.
- Experience managing operational performance using measurable KPIs.
- Strong understanding of field productivity, scheduling, labor utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Ability to diagnose operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and willingness to routinely visit jobsites and spend significant time with field teams.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Texas as business needs require.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, customer service, and organizational standards.
- Current Texas Master Electrician License or ability to obtain one.
- Experience leading residential standby generator installation operations at scale.
- Generac product and installation experience.
- Experience managing multiple installation crews or operating locations.
- Experience developing frontline supervisors or branch-level operational leaders.
- Demonstrated success improving field productivity, gross margin, labor efficiency, or installation cycle time.
- Familiarity with EOS or another structured operating/accountability system.
- Experience working within a fast-growing or rapidly changing organization.
