Job Description
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Warehouse Supervisor will be primarily responsible for managing warehouse operations, shipping, material handling, and freight carriers, under the direction of the Warehouse Manager.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
- Assists Warehouse Manager with hiring and training of new employees.
- Schedule, oversee, coach, and train warehouse staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Manage the pick and pack operation and accurately ship orders following customer requests, routing guides, and company procedures.
- Prioritize and process shipments using the ERP system and by coordinating with Sales and Accounting staff.
- Negotiate transportation rates and services with freight carriers to obtain the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting products and materials.
- Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes/mixes, or carriers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
DIMENSIONS, TASKS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receives and records new inventory as it is delivered; inspects and stores it according to policy.
- Conducts physical inventory, compares results to computerized inventory, and reconciles any differences.
- Replenishes stock and inventory as needed.
- Ensures that all stock is stored in correct locations in the warehouse.
- Transfers inventory to trucks for delivery in a timely manner and according to schedule.
- Schedules materials being transferred to and from the warehouse; coordinates transfer of inventory between departments.
- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of warehouse practices.
- Monitors expenditures; implements corrective actions if needed.
- Enforces operating instructions and safety policies.
- Resolves routine equipment issues.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
AUTHORITY
This position reports to the Warehouse and Logistics Manager.

Warehouse Associates
CLASSIFICATION
This is a full-time exempt role.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain preferred. Proven work experience as a logistics/warehouse supervisor or manager will be considered as an offset to the degree.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- At least 2 years supervising warehouse operations in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience working in a GMP environment preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- 3+ years’ experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on experience transacting and analyzing inventory with ERP software systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.
- Ability to operate all machinery in the warehouse, including forklifts, reach trucks, and scanning guns.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
SPECIAL DEMANDS
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The associate must regularly lift and /or move 10-40 pounds, and occasionally lift 50 - 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
