This role is an opportunity for a detail-oriented digital editor to create and update timely lifestyle content for a leading home and lifestyle publication with a wide national readership. You will focus on producing fast-turnaround news, updates, and refreshed content across topics such as home, food, gardening, and everyday living. Working remotely, you will collaborate within a CMS-driven editorial workflow to pitch, write, and refine engaging articles that align with a well-established brand voice. The role requires strong editorial judgment, speed, and accuracy in responding to trends and audience interests. You will also conduct research and updates to ensure content remains relevant, helpful, and high quality. This is a flexible part-time opportunity suited for an editor who thrives in a fast-paced digital publishing environment.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for producing, updating, and refining timely editorial content focused on lifestyle, home, food, and gardening topics. You will ensure that all content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with brand guidelines while meeting tight publishing deadlines. Key responsibilities include:

  • Pitching and writing timely news and updates for digital publication
  • Updating, revising, and rewriting existing content based on editorial direction and brand standards
  • Conducting research to ensure accuracy and relevance of published material
  • Working within a CMS to draft, edit, and submit content for publication
  • Tracking trends and leveraging tools such as alerts to identify timely story opportunities
  • Maintaining consistency in tone, voice, and style across all assigned content
  • Collaborating remotely with editorial teams to meet publishing goals and deadlines
Requirements:

This position requires strong editorial experience in lifestyle, home, or related media, along with the ability to write quickly and accurately in a digital newsroom environment. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting. Key qualifications include:

  • At least 2 years of experience in writing or editing lifestyle or home-related content
  • Journalism or editorial background strongly preferred
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to adapt to an established brand voice and editorial guidelines
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS)
  • Strong research skills and familiarity with tools such as Google Alerts
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort working remotely with reliable internet access and appropriate equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
