Responsibilities
Radiology Tech Supervisor Job Summary
- Coordinate and supervise daily operations of radiologic imaging services, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal use of equipment and staff resources.
- Determines appropriate technical factors to ensure optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
- Oversees and reviews Landauer radiation dosimetry reports, revenue reports, and staff/procedure schedules to support operational efficiency.
- Performs employee performance evaluations, facilitates new hire orientation, and manages training and competency programs for technologists.
- Represents the department and organization in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner when interacting with patients, staff, and vendors.
- Collaborates with Administration to meet departmental goals, deadlines, and productivity expectations.
- Provide direction, scheduling, training, and performance feedback to technologists and support personnel.
- Foster a positive team environment that promotes accountability, professional growth, and high-quality patient care.
- Monitor image quality and adherence to protocols, safety procedures, and radiation protection standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., DNV, ACR, state/federal regulations).
- Ensure compassionate, safe, and professional care is always delivered to patients. Assist with complex or critical imaging procedures as needed.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, service calls, and repairs for imaging equipment. Maintain adequate inventory of supplies while adhering to budget guidelines.
- Act as a liaison between radiologists, providers, nursing staff, and other departments to facilitate effective communication and patient care coordination.
- Support staff education and continuing competencies. Stay current on advances in imaging technology and practices.
- Assist in budgeting, policy development, and performance improvement projects. Participate in staff meetings, committees, and accreditation surveys.
Qualifications
Radiology Tech Supervisor Qualifications
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Current certification and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS).

- Exhibits excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to support staff and departmental operations.
- Proficient in computer systems and imaging software relevant to diagnostic services.
- Demonstrates effective leadership and decision-making abilities to guide team performance and workflow.
- May serve as Director or Assistant Director in the absence of department leadership.
- Promote and ensure exceptional customer service standards in all interactions.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining staff competency and training.
