Job Description

Okta Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Okta Architect based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead enterprise identity and access management initiatives using the Okta platform.
You will architect secure, scalable IAM solutions spanning cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and on-premise environments.
The position has a strong focus on SSO, MFA, lifecycle management, API access, and modern authentication standards.
You will help establish IAM policies, governance frameworks, and security best practices across complex enterprise environments.
As a technical leader, you will guide implementation teams, provide architectural direction, and help resolve challenging integration requirements.
The role is ideal for an experienced identity professional who enjoys combining strategic architecture with hands-on implementation.
You will work in a fully remote environment where strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership are essential.

Accountabilities
  • Architect, design, and implement enterprise identity and access management solutions using Okta.
  • Design and configure Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), lifecycle management, and API access management capabilities.
  • Integrate Okta with cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and on-premise systems across complex enterprise environments.
  • Establish IAM policies, governance standards, security controls, and best practices aligned with organizational requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to implementation teams throughout IAM projects.
  • Mentor technical team members and support the adoption of effective identity architecture and implementation practices.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, technical specifications, integration designs, and operational guidance.
  • Contribute to large-scale Okta migrations, consolidations, and identity modernization initiatives when required.
  • Support the adoption of Zero Trust security principles and evaluate opportunities to strengthen identity-centric security.
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into secure, scalable IAM solutions.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing Okta solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management concepts, including SSO, SAML, OIDC, OAuth, and SCIM.
  • Proven experience integrating Okta with complex enterprise applications, cloud services, SaaS platforms, and on-premise systems.
  • Strong architectural understanding of enterprise IAM environments, security controls, authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle management.
  • Okta certification, particularly Okta Certified Professional or Okta Certified Architect, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale Okta migrations, consolidations, or identity transformation programs is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust security frameworks and identity-focused security architectures.
  • Exposure to Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) integrations and identity governance tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to design solutions for complex integration and security challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders in a fully remote environment.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor implementation teams, and communicate complex identity concepts clearly.
  • Availability to work fully remotely and manage responsibilities effectively in a distributed work environment.
Benefits
  • Compensation of $65 per hour.
  • Six-month contract opportunity.
  • Fully remote work arrangement.
  • Opportunity to lead enterprise-scale identity and access management initiatives.
  • Exposure to modern IAM, cloud, SaaS, API security, and Zero Trust technologies.
  • Opportunity to provide architectural leadership and mentor technical implementation teams.
  • Work on complex enterprise integrations and identity modernization projects.
