We are hiring for either our Central or West U.S. territory and will select the strongest candidate for the best territory fit. The employee must reside within the assigned territory. This role requires approximately 50% travel, including frequent overnight travel.
Your primary goal? Create qualified pipeline by using your public-sector fleet credibility, industry relationships, and real-world fleet experience to identify the right organizations, start meaningful conversations, conduct initial discovery, and introduce RTA when there is a genuine opportunity to help.
You'll Have Access To· A $1,500 monthly travel budget to tour shops, meet with fleet professionals and prospects, and participate in relevant activities across your territory.
· RTA's existing association memberships, with the opportunity to recommend additional industry opportunities. Marketing will support larger events and related event budgets.
· Email sequences and outbound campaigns targeting ideal accounts.
· A strong Marketing and Sales team to collaborate with on strategy, messaging, and execution.
You'll Also
· Tap into your existing fleet network and keep building it. Leverage trusted industry relationships, mutual connections, customer referrals, and warm introductions to open doors.
· Listen first and understand a fleet's world before recommending a next step. Initial discovery should include current challenges, the FMIS they use today, whether they are open to change, and when a change may realistically occur.
· Build professional thought leadership and RTA visibility on LinkedIn. An existing LinkedIn presence is ideal, but the expectation is that your network and influence will continue to grow in the role.
· Bring the voice of the fleet community back to RTA so Marketing, Sales, Product, and leadership stay connected to what fleet professionals are experiencing in the real world.
What We're Looking For
Someone who is:
· A Proven Public-Sector Fleet Professional - You have personally worked in public-sector fleet management for a recognized city, county, state, DOT, public transportation/transit organization, or similarly respected public fleet operation.
· Credible in the Fleet Community - You bring an established network and industry credibility. Recognition such as fleet industry awards, 100 Best Fleets, Leading Fleets, or similar accolades is highly valued.
· A Natural Connector - You thrive on meeting people, building trust, making introductions, and creating lasting relationships that open doors.
· A Fleet Advocate at Heart - You genuinely want to help fleets succeed and know when an introduction to RTA could solve a real problem.
· A Story-Driven Educator - You can connect RTA's value to real-world fleet challenges in language fleet professionals understand.
· A Personal Brand Builder - You're comfortable being visible in the fleet community and excited to grow your LinkedIn network and thought leadership.
· A Street-Smart Listener - You bring back what you're hearing on the front lines to help shape RTA's messaging, campaigns, sales strategy, and market understanding.
