Project and Program Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Project and Program Manager based in the United States.

This is a remote contract opportunity for an experienced project and program management professional leading complex initiatives across a range of sectors.
You’ll take ownership of projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery remains aligned with organizational objectives and stakeholder expectations.
The role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution, requiring strong coordination across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
You’ll manage timelines, budgets, dependencies, and risks while keeping teams focused on measurable outcomes and successful delivery.
Strong communication and stakeholder management will be essential to building alignment, resolving challenges, and maintaining momentum throughout each initiative.
You’ll work in an environment that values Agile delivery, collaboration, accountability, and structured problem-solving.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead complex projects and programs from initiation through completion, establishing clear objectives, scope, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring responsibilities, dependencies, priorities, and timelines remain clearly understood throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and delivery milestones while proactively addressing issues that could affect project outcomes.
  • Apply Agile and Scrum practices to support effective planning, execution, collaboration, prioritization, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate project and program risks, developing practical response strategies and escalating significant issues when appropriate.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships through clear communication, regular status updates, expectation setting, and proactive resolution of delivery challenges.
  • Foster a collaborative working environment that encourages accountability, transparency, effective decision-making, and successful cross-functional delivery.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in project management, program management, or a closely related delivery role.
  • Proven experience leading complex projects involving multiple teams, stakeholders, workstreams, or organizational functions.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and practical experience applying Scrum principles in project or program delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines, priorities, dependencies, resources, and budgets effectively while maintaining focus on delivery objectives.
  • Strong risk management capabilities, including identifying potential issues, evaluating impact, developing mitigation strategies, and communicating risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical, business, and senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, including the ability to align teams with different priorities and maintain momentum through ambiguity or change.
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, technology, or another relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • PMP or a comparable project management certification is preferred.
  • Experience working in IT, software development, technology, or other technical project environments is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Trello, or comparable platforms is desirable.
