Job Description
As a Medical Receptionist at Simon Eye, you the first person our patients see and an important part of creating a welcoming, organized, and positive experience from the moment they arrive.
In this fast-paced role, you’ll work closely with our doctors, clinical teams, and other staff to keep the day running smoothly while helping patients navigate appointments, insurance, payments, and other questions. We’re looking for someone who is friendly and professional, comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and committed to providing excellent service to every patient. This is a part-time position that will generally work 3 days per week plus up to 2 Saturdays per month.
What You’ll Do
Simon Eye and Center for Advanced Eye Care are partner practices with a combined team of 44 optometrists, 8 ophthalmologists, and 225 staff members serving patients in Delaware, Maryland, and southeastern Pennsylvania, including Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks Counties. Together, we are committed to providing patient-centered, medically focused, full-service eye care delivered in convenient locations with friendly, knowledgeable doctors and staff.

What You’ll Do
- Welcome patients and provide a friendly, professional check-in and check-out experience
- Review and update patient demographic, registration, and insurance information
- Verify insurance information and help patients understand applicable benefits and charges
- Accurately enter patient charges and collect co-payments and other patient payments
- Schedule appointments and assist patients with scheduling questions
- Respond to patient questions and concerns with professionalism, patience, and good judgment
- Coordinate with other Simon Eye departments when additional assistance is needed
- Communicate effectively with doctors, clinical staff, and other team members throughout the day
- Help keep the front desk organized and patient flow moving efficiently
- At least 3 years of customer service experience, preferably in a busy medical or healthcare environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in helping patients
- Ability to understand and clearly communicate basic patient insurance and payment information
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work quickly and accurately without losing attention to the patient experience
- Strong computer and data-entry skills, including accuracy when working in patient databases
- Professional, dependable, and self-motivated approach to your work
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a busy healthcare team
- Availability to work at least one evening per week and two Saturdays per month to help meet the needs of our patients
