Job Description

Position Summary

Responsible for assisting in the analysis, maintenance, design, and implementation of system-wide Compensation and Human Resources Information Systems programs and policies. This role involves conducting salary analyses, job evaluations, market benchmarking, and compliance with compensation-related regulations. The specialist works closely with HR generalists, recruiters, and leadership to align compensation strategies with business objectives.

This is a hybrid position, requiring at least 2 days per week in the office.

Primary Position Responsibilities

  1. Conduct market reviews by benchmarking jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine appropriate compensation ranges. Manage the salary survey process, including participating in salary surveys, analyzing results, and uploading data into the compensation software.
  2. Responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining compensation-related reports to support data-driven decision-making. Assist in compensation planning, including merit increases, incentive programs, and budget forecasting. Assist in the administration of bonus programs, ensuring all required approvals are obtained, auditing payouts for accuracy, and compiling necessary documentation before submitting to Payroll for processing.
  3. Collaborates with appropriate members of Human Resources and Development to determine wage and salary rates for new hires, promotions and/or transfers as needed. Acts as a resource for management and provides guidance on compensation policies and related issues.
  4. Collaborate with leaders to develop and update accurate job descriptions, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and compensation structures.
  5. HRIS functions include database management and technical maintenance related to compensation, position management and performance management systems. Collaborates with other Human Resources and Development staff appropriately to ensure consistency and accuracy of information; keeps staff informed of current problems/issues. Continually evaluates system capabilities and recommends enhanced uses.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Required: Associate's Degree in Business, Computer Science or related area
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business or related area

Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

  • Required: 1–2 years of experience in compensation, HR analytics, or related HR functions
  • Preferred: 3 years of experience in compensation, HR analytics, or related HR functions

License, Registry or Certification:

  • Required: None
  • Preferred: HR Certification, SHRM-CP or SCP or other HR certification

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Required:
    • Computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google; Word and Excel.
    • Superior analytical/statistical skills and the ability to handle multiple large assignments and projects simultaneously are essential.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
    • Excellent organization, presentation and communication skills.
    • Familiarity with compensation regulations and best practices.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with UKG HR/Payroll/Workforce Management and/or Timekeeping systems.
    • Experience with Payscale or other compensation management programs.
