Job Overview

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides daily support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live meaningful, safe, and independent lives. DSPs assist with personal care, daily living skills, community activities, and documentation while maintaining a supportive and respectful environment.

Responsibilities

- Support individuals with daily routines including meals, hygiene, and personal care
- Assist with community outings, appointments, and recreational activities
- Encourage skill‑building in communication, budgeting, cooking, and independence
- Follow all agency policies, safety procedures, and training requirements
- Document services, progress notes, and daily activities in THERAP accurately and on time
- Communicate changes in condition or behavior to supervisors or nursing staff
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment
- Assist with household tasks and individual goals
- Provide transportation as needed
- Support individuals during challenging behaviors using approved techniques

Requirements

- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift, assist, and support individuals as needed
- Ability to complete required training (CPR, First Aid, MANDT, Medication Administration, etc.)

Preferred Experience

Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (not required but helpful)

Available Shifts

We currently have openings on the following shifts:

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend Shifts
7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
