Momentous Concepts is looking for a Junior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving discrepancies, and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a growing, multi-location organization.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our Accounting and Operations teams to ensure sales activity is accurately recorded, discrepancies are researched and resolved, and financial reports are completed accurately and on time. You’ll also gain exposure to a variety of accounting functions, including financial reporting, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and the period-end close process.

Daily Accounting & Sales Reconciliation

• Reconcile daily sales summaries for all company locations and investigate discrepancies.
• Verify daily sales activity, including sales, discounts, voids, comps, guest counts, and other operating metrics.
• Review and process deposit corrections and change-order adjustments.
• Research and follow up on bank discrepancies.
• Research variances and partner with the appropriate departments or locations to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for reconciliations and adjustments.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare and distribute daily flash reports, including sales, guest counts, labor, and prior-day, week-to-date, period-to-date, and quarter-to-date results.
• Prepare weekly reports related to comps and voids.
• Prepare additional sales and operational reports as requested.
• Assist with identifying and analyzing sales trends, variances, and unusual activity.

Period-End & General Accounting

• Assist with monthly sales tax reporting.
• Prepare period-end reports and assigned closing journal entries.
• Review location-level expenses for accuracy and completeness.
• Research unusual or unexpected expense activity.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Provide cross-functional support to other members of the Accounting team.
• Assist with additional accounting responsibilities and special projects as needed.

• 2–3 years of accounting experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Toast and Restaurant365 is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with financial information.
• Restaurant, retail, hospitality, or multi-location business experience is a plus.
