Job Description
At Moxie Pest Control, we believe the first week matters. It’s where new hires learn the job, build confidence, experience our customer-first culture, and begin to see themselves succeeding here. That’s why we’re looking for an Initial Trainer who genuinely enjoys helping people learn, grow, and find their footing.
In this full-time, in-person role, you’ll guide new hires through their first week of training — welcoming them to Moxie, teaching the tools and skills they need, answering the questions they may be nervous to ask, and coaching them through practice calls and real-world scenarios.
Your goal is simple: help every new hire leave training feeling prepared, confident, and ready to take calls on the inbound team.
You’ll have structured training materials, clear expectations, and leadership support, while still having the freedom to bring your own energy, personality, and coaching style to the room.
About You
You genuinely want to see people succeed and know how to create a supportive, confident learning environment. You’re patient, organized, and comfortable leading a room, giving honest feedback, and holding people accountable when needed.:
- Warm & Encouraging - You create an environment where new hires feel comfortable learning, asking questions, and making mistakes while they build confidence.
- Confident & Professional - You can lead a group, set expectations, and represent Moxie’s standards from the moment someone walks through the door.
- A Strong Communicator - You know how to break down information, explain the “why,” and make complicated processes easier to understand.
- Patient & Adaptable - You understand that everyone learns differently and can adjust your approach without losing structure.
- Organized & Accountable - You keep training on track, monitor progress, document performance, and make sure each new hire is ready for the next step.
- Customer-Focused - You understand that the way we train our people directly impacts the experience we create for our customers
What You’ll Do
Your primary focus is guiding new hires through their first week and preparing them to confidently join the inbound team.
- Lead structured, engaging first-week training
- Teach Moxie’s systems, processes, policies, and customer service standards
- Facilitate role-playing, practice calls, and real-world scenarios
- Coach new hires through challenges and build their confidence
- Provide feedback, track progress, and identify areas for additional support
- Evaluate readiness and communicate progress with leadership
- Help each new hire make a confident transition from training to taking calls on the inbound team
By the end of the week, they should know what we do, how we do it, why it matters, and feel ready to put it into practice.
Most importantly, you’ll help turn a brand-new hire into someone who feels prepared, supported, and ready to take their first call.
This Role Is About More Than Training
Great trainers meet people where they are while helping them reach a high standard. You’ll work with new hires of all experience levels, coaching, encouraging, and celebrating their progress as they build the confidence to succeed. If you enjoy those “lightbulb moments” and helping people leave training stronger than when they arrived, you’ll thrive in this role.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in training, teaching, coaching, or mentoring roles (Required)
- 2+ years of customer service experience (Required)
- 2+ years of call center experience (Required)

- Comfortable leading groups and speaking in front of others
- Patient, approachable, and confident providing feedback
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage a structured training schedule
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and experience levels
- Full-time, in-person attendance required
