Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Food Safety Manager to oversee and ensure compliance with all food safety protocols and regulations. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality products to our customers. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in food safety, strong organizational skills, and a hands-on approach to managing compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification and oversee SQF program requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential food safety hazards.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to food safety standards, including FDA, HACCP, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Serve as the point of contact for food safety audits, inspections, and inquiries from regulatory bodies and customers.
  • Train and educate employees on food safety protocols and best practices to foster a culture of safety and quality.
  • Investigate and address food safety incidents, implement corrective actions, and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of food safety measures into daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in food safety or quality assurance in a wholesale food manufacturing environment.
  • HACCP certification is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of HACCP principles, Preventive Controls, food safety regulations, and manufacturing processes.
  • SQF Practitioner. Knowledge of SQF Code and requirements or other GFSI standards.
  • PCQI training and knowledge.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
