Front-End / UI/UX Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Front-End / UI/UX Developer based in the United States.

This role combines modern front-end engineering with user-centered design to build mission-critical web and mobile applications for a high-impact federal program. You will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of responsive digital products that must perform reliably in secure and often constrained environments. The position requires a strong balance of technical expertise and UX sensibility, ensuring that user needs are translated into intuitive, accessible, and scalable interfaces. You will collaborate closely with product owners, backend engineers, and stakeholders to deliver seamless end-to-end experiences. This is a fully remote opportunity supporting a mission-driven initiative where your work directly impacts real-world operations. The environment is highly collaborative and detail-oriented, with a strong emphasis on quality, security, and usability.

Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using React, TypeScript, AWS Amplify, and GraphQL APIs, ensuring high performance and reliability across platforms.
  • Build and optimize mobile applications using React Native and/or Flutter, with a focus on offline-first functionality for low-connectivity or disconnected environments.
  • Translate wireframes, mockups, and user requirements into clean, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces aligned with modern UI/UX principles.
  • Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and backend engineers to ensure seamless integration and consistent end-to-end user experiences.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to continuously improve usability, accessibility, and overall product design.
  • Create and maintain design systems, UI assets, and documentation using tools such as Figma and Adobe XD, ensuring design consistency and scalability.
Requirements

This role requires a seasoned front-end and UI/UX professional with strong technical engineering skills and a deep understanding of user-centered design. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in secure, structured environments and has experience delivering high-quality applications across web and mobile platforms. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in a remote, cross-functional team.

  • U.S. citizenship and active Top Secret clearance required to start.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, HCI, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in front-end development, UI/UX engineering, or mobile application development.
  • Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, AWS Amplify, and GraphQL APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with React Native and/or Flutter for mobile application development.
  • Proficiency with UI/UX tools such as Figma and Adobe XD.
  • Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and iterative design improvements.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards (including Section 508), and cross-platform development.
Benefits
  • 100% remote work within the United States
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
  • Opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven federal program with real-world impact
  • Collaborative, innovative, and supportive team environment
  • Exposure to secure, large-scale, and high-impact digital systems
  • Professional growth in modern front-end, mobile, and UX engineering practices
