Position Overview:

Relationship Development Officer (RDO) – School Spirit Card Program is responsible for the growth, promotion, and success of Frontier Credit Union’s School Spirit Card Program throughout the Credit Union’s footprint.

This position serves as the primary liaison between Frontier Credit Union and local high schools, building strong relationships with school administrators, athletic departments, booster clubs, faculty, students, parents, and community supporters. The RDO actively seeks opportunities to establish new school partnerships, increase awareness of the Spirit Card Program, and drive checking account growth tied to school-branded debit cards.

The RDO will represent Frontier Credit Union at school and community events, educate communities on the benefits of the Spirit Card Program, and work to maximize participation and card usage to increase revenue sharing provided back to local schools. Success in this role is measured by school partnerships established, new accounts opened, school engagement, and growth in active Spirit Card penetration and usage.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary representative and ambassador for Frontier Credit Union’s School Spirit Card Program.
  • Develop relationships with local high schools within the Credit Union footprint to establish new Spirit Card partnerships.
  • Present the Spirit Card Program to school administrators, school boards, booster clubs, athletic directors, and community organizations.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and launch process for newly partnered schools.
  • Attend school and community events including athletic events, orientations, registration nights, fundraisers, assemblies, and community fairs to promote the Spirit Card Program.
  • Educate parents, students, faculty, alumni, and community supporters on the benefits of membership and participation in the Spirit Card Program.
  • Generate new memberships and checking accounts tied to school-branded debit cards.
  • Work toward increasing penetration and usage of Spirit Cards within each participating school community.
  • Collaborate with branch teams to ensure a smooth and welcoming account-opening experience for new members.
  • Create and execute outreach strategies to increase awareness and engagement within schools and surrounding communities.
  • Develop marketing and promotional ideas in partnership with the Marketing Department to support school campaigns and card adoption.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and positive relationships with school representatives and community leaders.
  • Track program growth, participation levels, school engagement, and account production goals. Always Represent Frontier Credit Union in a professional and positive manner.
  • Actively participate in community organizations and networking opportunities that support school and community engagement.
  • Provide exceptional internal and external member service.
  • Understand, apply, and comply with all Credit Union policies and procedures, State and Federal laws and regulations, and adhere to requirements set forth by the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Complete other assigned duties commensurate with position responsibilities.
Requirements:

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in relationship development, sales, marketing, community outreach, education partnerships, or financial services preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, relationship building, or community engagement.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with students, parents, educators, and community leaders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage outreach activities effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional appearance, attitude, and demeanor.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with branches and internal departments.
  • Understanding of credit union products and services preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and occasional weekends based on school and community event schedules.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and member service.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires self-transportation, speaking and demonstrating to others; occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Operate routine office equipment including computer terminals, keyboards, telephones, copiers, and calculators. Work on computer for up to 8 hours per day at times. Some locations may require ability to climb or descend stairs with minimal assistance in emergency situations.
