This is a 6 (six) month contract position
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and integration of mechanical components, assemblies, fixtures, tools and electro-mechanical systems used in medical devices. The role combines mechanical design expertise with mechatronics awareness to deliver safe, reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions that meet functional requirements while complying with applicable regulations, quality standards, and company policies. This role supports the full development lifecycle from concept to production, including verification testing and continuous improvement, in accordance with the Company’s ISO 13485 Quality Management System and ISO 14971 Medical Device Risk Management requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES:
- Hands on experience in designing and building fixtures / jigs/ and process supporting tools
- Proven experience in conceptualizing, quoting, and executing on production-related tools and equipment
- Deep knowledge of tool and die / mold functionality and executing on purchasing such tools
- Collaborative experience as engineering support for production equipment & tooling troubleshooting Experience with reviewing 3D part data, tool data, Part Drawing (GD&T), Part/Tool CMM dimensional, APQP activities/documentations Preference for individuals with machine/automation design experience
- Work with suppliers and develop suppliers
- Participates CI programs where required

- Mechanical/Industrial Engineering degree or diploma
- 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing equipment Design and Engineering experience
- Proven knowledge in GD&T 14.5Y
- Excellent documentation, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
- 5 years’ Solidworks /CAD skills and drafting experience
- Excellent English language communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Knowledge of TS16949 or ISO9001 and ISO 13485 systems.
