Position: Floor Support

Job Summary

The Floor Support team member is responsible for helping customers safely load furniture into their vehicles, moving merchandise throughout the showroom and store, and assisting with furniture assembly and disassembly. This position plays an important role in keeping the showroom organized, merchandise properly displayed, and customer pickups running smoothly.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist customers with loading furniture and merchandise into their vehicles during customer pickups.
• Safely move sofas, sectionals, mattresses, bedroom furniture, dining furniture, and other merchandise throughout the store.
• Move merchandise between the showroom, warehouse, and pickup areas as needed.
• Assemble new furniture and showroom displays according to manufacturer specifications.
• Disassemble furniture when merchandise needs to be moved, replaced, repaired, returned, or removed from the showroom.
• Rearrange showroom furniture and displays to maintain an attractive and organized sales floor.
• Inspect furniture for visible damage or issues while moving or assembling merchandise and report concerns to management.
• Maintain clean and organized pickup, showroom, and work areas.
• Use hand trucks, carts, dollies, and other equipment safely and appropriately.
• Follow all company safety procedures and proper lifting techniques.
• Provide friendly and helpful service to customers during the pickup and loading process.
• Perform other store-related duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and move heavy furniture with assistance when appropriate.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to safely maneuver large and bulky furniture through doorways and other confined spaces.
• Ability to work as part of a team when moving heavier or oversized merchandise.

Qualifications

• Previous furniture, warehouse, delivery, moving, or retail experience is helpful but not required.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Good customer-service skills and a professional attitude.
• Ability to safely handle and move furniture.
• Basic ability to use hand tools and assemble furniture.
• Must be willing to perform physically demanding work on a regular basis.

Work Environment

This position works primarily on the retail showroom floor and in customer pickup areas. The position involves frequent movement of furniture and merchandise and interaction with customers, sales associates, and other store employees.
