Position Title: Food Runner

Reports to (Position Title): Manager of Dining Room

Position Overview:
As a member of the Dining Room Staff, Food Runners provide excellent service to our members, ensuring that the member and the guest have an excellent dining experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Act as the point of contact between Front of House and Back of House.
• Expedites food and aligns on tray in accordance with table position.
• Have menu knowledge and field questions from members and guests. Pay special attention to priorities and special requests (e.g., food allergies).
• Serve all food courses in accordance with serving procedures. Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g., proper temperature).
• Bring additional tableware as needed.
• Refill glasses as needed.
• Watch for table needs and remain available whenever members are dining.
• Dispose of linens, polish silverware and clean trays at the end of each shift.
• Keep tray stands clear.
• Watch for possible safety issues and intervene immediately.
• Clear and reset tables quickly.
• Prior to start of shift, restock dressings, plate and glass garnishments and paper supplies.
• Maintain a positive, upbeat work environment always.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must understand restaurant hygiene and food safety rules.
• Must be physically able to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours.
• Must be able to work in hot and/or windy weather conditions for long hours.
• Ability to multitask.
• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.

Credentials and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience as a food expeditor or similar entry-level role is preferred.
• Degree in hospitality or restaurant management is a plus.
