Who we are:
Union County Savings Bank is a community bank with four branches in Union County. The Bank was founded in 1883 to serve the local communities of Union County and remains strongly committed to these communities today. Currently the team at UCSB is greatly expanding its community outreach and community reinvestment act programs. The Bank is also rolling out new products and services designed to meet the expanding needs of our customers while preserving our 143-year pledge of security, safety and service.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking a branch manager at our Cranford location who will ensure the branch team provides unparalleled service to our customers and the communities we serve while fostering an inclusive, growth centered and caring culture.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Own branch results, including deposit growth, household and business relationship growth, referrals, customer experience, and operational performance.
· Lead daily and weekly sales and service routines, including huddles, pipeline/activity reviews, coaching, and follow-up on commitments.
· Coach each team member to identify customer needs, ask the right questions, recommend appropriate solutions, and create qualified referrals.
· Drive proactive business development through outbound calling, customer follow-up, prospecting, community involvement, and relationship-building.
· Build and maintain a branch calling plan focused on current customers, prospects, local businesses, centers of influence, and community partners.
· Monitor individual and branch scorecards; identify performance gaps quickly and establish clear action plans with deadlines and follow-up.
· Create a culture of accountability in which expectations are clear, commitments are tracked, and strong performance is recognized.
· Oversee opening and servicing of consumer and small business deposit relationships, including more complex and relationship-based accounts.
· Partner with business banking and commercial lending to identify and refer lending, deposit, and cash-management opportunities.
· Manage staffing, scheduling, cash controls, audits, security, dual-control requirements, and other daily branch operating responsibilities.
· Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and operational risk standards.
· Represent UCSB at community, civic, networking, and business-development events and actively support bank community initiatives.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Leadership & Coaching Expectations
· Conduct consistent one-on-one coaching and provide timely, specific feedback tied to observed behaviors and results.
· Use branch metrics, activity levels, and customer opportunities to coach performance rather than relying only on end results.
· Develop employees through clear goals, ongoing training, recognition, and documented performance conversations when expectations are not met.
· Create an environment where employees understand how their daily activities contribute to branch and bank goals.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills.
· Demonstrated ability to manage goals, use performance metrics, and hold others accountable.
· Ability to develop business through proactive outreach and community involvement.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, judgment, and follow-through.
· High level of integrity and commitment to serving customers and the community.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and bank systems used for daily customer service and branch management.
· Ability to work branch hours, including evenings and Saturdays, and provide coverage at other locations as needed.
