IES Safety, LLC – Rentals Division is seeking skilled and reliable Field Technician – Offshore Safety / Rentals to join our dynamic team.

The IES Field Technician – Offshore Safety / Rentals is responsible for supporting IES Safety Rentals customers and projects in offshore oil and gas environments.

This position requires an experienced offshore professional capable of working independently in active field environments while safely operating, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting IES rental and safety equipment.

Ideal candidates will have previous offshore oil and gas experience, with offshore construction, decommissioning and/or Plug & Abandonment (P&A) experience strongly preferred. Candidates should have a working understanding of offshore operations, jobsite safety requirements, permit-to-work processes, JSAs/JHAs, SIMOPS, and the day-to-day demands associated with offshore projects. Pay Range: Based on Experience

The Offshore Safety Technician serves as an on-site representative of IES Safety Rentals and is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, technical competency, communication, and customer service at all times.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of offshore oil and gas experience preferred
• Offshore construction, decommissioning and/or Plug & Abandonment (P&A) experience strongly preferred
• Previous experience supporting offshore drilling, intervention, construction, production, maintenance, decommissioning or related operations preferred
• Working knowledge of offshore safety practices, JSAs/JHAs, permit-to-work requirements and SIMOPS
• Experience with breathing air systems, SCBA/SABA, gas detection, H₂S monitoring, confined-space support and related safety/rental equipment preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to inspect, operate, maintain and troubleshoot field equipment
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
• Ability to work effectively with customer representatives, offshore supervisors, contractors and other personnel
• Ability to accurately complete required job documentation, inspection records, equipment records, timesheets and related paperwork
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and DISA drug screen
• Valid and current driver's license with clean driving record
• TWIC card preferred or ability to obtain
• PEC SafeGulf / SafeLand or equivalent industry training preferred
• EMR certification preferred or willingness and ability to obtain EMR certification as required
• Any/all IES Required Training
• Any/all Industry Required Training
• Client Required Training as applicable
• Ability and willingness to work offshore rotations, extended shifts, nights, weekends and holidays as required by project activity

Responsibilities

1. Participate in departmental, company and client safety functions including JSAs/JHAs, safety meetings, safety observations/cards and other required safety programs.
2. Understand and comply with IES, customer and facility-specific safety requirements at all times.
3. Safely operate, inspect, test and maintain assigned IES Safety Rentals equipment.
4. Maintain tools and equipment required for field-level work, including quantity, condition and applicable inspections/calibrations.
5. Identify equipment issues and perform basic troubleshooting and corrective actions within the technician's level of training and competency.
6. Maintain company vehicles and perform required pre-use inspections. Vehicles shall be maintained in a clean, safe and serviceable condition.
7. Maintain availability for work and assigned rotations unless time off has been requested and approved by the direct supervisor.
8. Maintain a professional appearance, attitude and level of conduct both on and off the job while representing IES.
9. Exhibit quality workmanship and take ownership of assigned equipment, responsibilities and customer requirements.
10. Maintain current knowledge, training and competency in the following areas:

• IES Required Training
• Industry Required Training
• Client Required Training
• Applicable safety and rental equipment
• New technology and equipment utilized by IES Safety Rentals

1. Maintain situational awareness and understand how ongoing offshore construction, P&A, decommissioning or other simultaneous operations may affect assigned responsibilities and equipment.
2. Communicate effectively with customer representatives and IES Operations Management regarding job activity, equipment status, project needs, potential issues and changing field conditions.
3. Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to perform duties outside of normal responsibilities when necessary to safely and successfully support the customer and project.

Duties

1. Prepare required pre-job documentation and verify that all assigned equipment, tools, parts and materials are properly tested, inspected and ready prior to mobilization.
2. Participate in pre-job planning, JSAs/JHAs, toolbox meetings and other safety meetings as applicable.
3. Mobilize, install, operate and demobilize IES Safety Rentals equipment as required by the project.
4. Perform routine inspections, function testing and preventative maintenance of assigned equipment while offshore.
5. Support breathing air systems, SCBA/SABA equipment, gas detection equipment, confined-space operations and other IES rental/safety equipment when trained and assigned.
6. Maintain accurate equipment inspection, testing, maintenance and usage documentation.
7. Immediately communicate equipment failures, safety concerns, operational changes or other conditions that could affect the safe and successful execution of the project.
8. Communicate ongoing job activity and progress with IES Operations Management as directed.
9. Coordinate professionally with customer personnel and other contractors while maintaining clear understanding of IES scope and responsibilities.
10. Maintain assigned work areas and IES equipment in a clean, organized and job-ready condition.
11. Assist with equipment preparation, loading, unloading, mobilization and demobilization before and after offshore assignments as required.
12. Provide complete and accurate timesheets, expenses and other required administrative documentation within established company deadlines.
