Manager of Youth Programs (MYP)

Department: Tamwood International Camps
Reports To:
Director of Youth Programs
Location:
Vancouver (with occasional travel to camp locations)

Job Overview

Tamwood is seeking a passionate and experienced youth program leader to join our team as a Manager of Youth Programs (MYP). In this role, the Manager of Youth Programs (MYP) is responsible for the successful day-to-day execution of Tamwood’s youth programs across multiple locations in both Canada and the USA, ensuring an exceptional and consistent experience for all campers. This role oversees logistics, staffing, and program implementation while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.

The MYP works in close collaboration with a second Manager of Youth Programs, with responsibilities shared across sites to ensure strong leadership and program consistency throughout the summer. Both MYPs report to the Director of Youth Programs and play a key role in executing strategic initiatives while keeping operations efficient, adaptable, and aligned with Tamwood’s mission.

In addition, the MYP partners with the Director of Strategic Growth & Partnerships to support program innovation that aligns with Tamwood’s growth and monetization goals—while remaining operationally accountable to the Director of Youth Programs.

  • Ensure activities are logistically feasible, culturally enriching, and meet all safety and compliance standards.
  • Work closely with the Coordinator of Youth Programs and seasonal staff to bring programs to life.
  • Present new program designs to the Director of Youth Programs for approval.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Growth & Partnerships on program innovation and pilot initiatives.
  • Provide operational insight to ensure feasibility, resourcing, and alignment with current camp logistics.
  • Note: While this role collaborates cross-functionally, all operational accountability and supervision rest with the Director of Youth Programs.

Key Competencies

  • Multi-site leadership and team management
  • Creativity in program development
  • Adaptability in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

What to Expect in This Role
