CDL Operator- Local at MooreCo Inc – Morristown, Tennessee

Job Title: CDL Operator

Location: Temple, TX

Reports To: Director of Distribution

Primary duties will include:

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers

• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance

• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules

• Comply with DOT truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures

• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions

• Collect and verify delivery instructions, documents, and work orders

• Report defects, accidents, or violations

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• At least 21 years of age

• Current DOT Physical

• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)

• At least 2 years of verifiable miles of tractor trailer driving experience

• Candidates will be subject to a background check and drug screen, in accordance with applicable laws

• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions

• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Preferred education:

• High School diploma is preferred, GED required.

• We will consider additional experience in lieu of diploma.

The essential physical & environmental requirements of the position are:

• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment, heat and cold.

• Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

• Ability to stand prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

• Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.

• Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and have color vision.
