About This Position
Job Description
The Company is seeking a hands-on Senior Controller to join its leadership team. This important role requires a detail-oriented producer with a strong background in finance, accounting, and financial management. The Controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting, and reporting activities across a number of portfolio companies. The Senior Controller will be instrumental in optimizing processes, providing actionable data-driven insights, and ensuring first class execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Banking Relationship Management and Compliance:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all commercial bank relationships and regularly engage with bank representatives to discuss financial performance, operational updates, and any changes impacting the Company’s banking needs.
- Ensure compliance with all covenants, reporting requirements, and obligations related to the Company’s commercial banking agreements.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation and consolidation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for multiple business units.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and provide actionable insights to executive leadership.
- Present financial reports and forecasts to the CEO and other key stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with business unit leaders to develop detailed budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support long-term strategic planning and scenario analysis.
- Cash Flow and Working Capital Management: Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management, optimizing liquidity and managing funding requirements.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing monitoring of financial policies and procedures across all business units.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in financial operations to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Audit and Tax:
- Act the primary liaison with external auditors to ensure the timely completion of annual audit process.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations across all entities.
- Manage tax filings and reporting requirements for each portfolio company, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and support for professional development and career growth within the finance team.
- Drive team performance through clear objectives, regular feedback, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior finance and accounting/controlling role and strong track record of success.
- Preference for public accounting firm experience.
- Certification: CPA or equivalent certification is required.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and GAAP/IFRS standards.
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
- Proven experience in managing and leading finance teams, with excellent people-management skills.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with executive leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage commercial banking relationship and/or reporting requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
