Custodial and Grounds Worker in Las Cruces, New Mexico at Tresco, Inc.

Pay Rate: $15.50/hour (Pay Range: OP-1)
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Hours vary)

Tresco, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Custodial and Grounds Worker to perform a combination of custodial and grounds maintenance duties to ensure that all assigned areas are clean, well-maintained, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering quality work, maintain a professional demeanor, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

• Mow improved grounds to maintain a well-manicured appearance

• Edge sidewalks, driveways, curbs, and other hard surfaces

• Trim areas inaccessible to mowers

• Remove general and natural debris through routine litter patrol

• Maintain a neat and professional appearance of landscaped and desert areas

• Perform weed control as needed

• Operate landscaping tools and equipment such as weed eaters, edgers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and blowers

• Clean and sanitize restrooms; restock paper and soap products, and replace deodorizers and batteries as needed

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floor surfaces, including tile and carpet

• Clean entranceways, interior and exterior windows, and office glass

• Empty trash bins and replace liners

• Perform dusting, including monthly high-dusting (e.g., window blinds)

• Maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the facility

• Perform regular and advanced floor maintenance

• Provide assistance to the public as needed

• Maintain equipment in a clean and operable condition

• Cooperate and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates

• Take direction and implement special projects as assigned

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

• Grounds maintenance or landscaping experience preferred

Substitution:

• Equivalent education/experience substitutions allowed per Tresco policy

Licenses/Certifications:

• Valid driver’s license required

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass a background check and a motor vehicle record (MVR) check

• Post-offer drug screening may be required

• Proficiency in English (oral and written); bilingual skills are a plus

• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employees and clients

• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure or stressful situations

• Strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
