Position Information


The Director of Compliance is responsible for providing support to the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance Services for the UCR Department of Athletics Compliance Program. Responsibilities include supporting the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance services in the areas of rules education, initial and continuing eligibility, financial aid, personnel, recruiting, practice and playing seasons, and the self-reporting process. This individual must be able to communicate and function as part of the collaborative team within the Compliance Office and across departments.The full salary range for the Director of Compliance is $56,000.00 - $96,400.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $56,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Minimum Requirements
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
Ability in problem identification and reasoning; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Knowledge of complex U.S. visa and immigration procedures, compliance issues, and employment eligibility/authorization for international students and scholars.
Interpersonal skills.
Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations.
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance operational issues and activities, specifically at the Division I level.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Advanced computer skills including demonstrated proficiency using the NCAA Compliance Assistant software, NCAA Eligibility Center, RSRO, and LSDBi.
Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the area of athletics compliance at the Division I level.
Proficiency with ARMS or similar compliance software.
