Fresca Mexican Foods (Fresca) is a premier manufacturer of tortillas, wraps, and chips. Our SQF-certified, world-class facility is in Caldwell, Idaho. For 45 years, Fresca has been manufacturing and supplying our customers with the highest quality products using the finest ingredients and time-tested formulations, manufacturing processes, and freezing techniques. Fresca is looking for a sanitation supervisor to help facilitate and implement sanitation protocols, policies, and procedures. We are looking for an individual with a strong background in food and beverage sanitation who can help our team develop and create a top-notch sanitation program and team. The sanitation supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the sanitation program at our tortilla plant. This role ensures that the plant maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, complying with all federal, state, and local regulations. The Sanitation Supervisor will lead a team of sanitation workers, implement sanitation procedures, and coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:.
1. Leadership and Supervision:
• Supervise, lead, and assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff.
• Assist with training programs for sanitation employees to ensure compliance with sanitation standards and safety regulations.
2. Sanitation Program Management:
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive sanitation program, including daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
• Ensure all areas of the plant, including production lines, equipment, and facilities, are cleaned and sanitized according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify the effectiveness of the sanitation program and implement corrective actions as needed.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local sanitation and safety regulations, including the FDA, OSHA, and other relevant agencies.
• Maintain detailed records of sanitation activities, inspections, and compliance reports. • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve the plant's sanitation program.
4. Coordination and Communication:
• Collaborate with the production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure sanitation activities do not disrupt plant operations.
• Communicate effectively with plant management and other departments to address sanitation-related issues promptly.
5. Inventory and Equipment Management:
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Ensure proper maintenance and operation of sanitation equipment, coordinating repairs or replacements as necessary.
6. Health and Safety:
• Promote a culture of safety and cleanliness within the plant. • Ensure all sanitation employees follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly. • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents related to sanitation activities
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to regularly lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and move around machinery for prolonged periods
• Ability to work in varying working climates, i.e., temperatures may vary from hot to very cold
