Job Description
Reports to the Director of Health and Fitness. Under the general supervision of the Member Experience Coordinator, is responsible for performing functions of the laundry room.

Performs laundry duties, minor maintenance, cleaning and securing the BHF by:
- Maintain adequate supplies of items such as: cups, towels and laundry room cleaning and drying supplies.
- Following emergency procedures as outlined in operations manual.
- Applying and enforcing BHF rules and regulations, as directed.
- Receiving complaints, comments, and/or suggestions from clients and promptly taking appropriate actions; utilizing BHF's seek-to-serve policy.
- Maintaining adequate supplies of items such as: cups, towels, toiletries, forms, brochures, schedules, snack items, pro-shop items, computer supplies, etc.
- Performing regularly scheduled light cleaning maintenance duties, i.e., vacuuming, dusting, collection of towels, glass cleaning, wiping sinks and countertops, refilling amenities (e.g., soaps, shampoos, deodorants, etc.) along with general cleanup.
- Folding and maintaining towel supplies in locker rooms and preparing soiled towel carts.
- Monitoring inventory of laundry room supplies.
- Opening and/or closing and securing BHF at scheduled time when needed, or as directed otherwise.
- Sort all linens. Load all laundry into washer and add specified cleaning agent. Take wet, clean items and dry as directed. Sort, fold or hang clean dried items.
- Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to Members Experience Coordinator.
- Maintains all laundry equipment and inform Members Experience Coordinator as to any maintenance needs.
- Perform additional laundry services when necessary.
- Remove/restock towels in locker rooms and cleaning of locker rooms as needed.
Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:
- Completing other job-related duties and projects as assigned.
Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:
- Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
- Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
- Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
- Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
- Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
- Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
- Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
- Complies with established organization and department policies.
- Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience
- The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are acquired through the successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Must be a minimum of 17 years of age. No previous experience required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Demonstrates the interpersonal skills and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact effectively with a diverse group of internal callers, clients, visitors, etc. in a professional, courteous, friendly and sincere manner.
- Requires certification in CPR or arrangements to be certified within three months of employment.
- Requires the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Possesses a personal commitment to positive fitness and health practices and presents an image consistent with a fit and healthy lifestyle.
Working Conditions
- Works in an athletic club environment with frequent interruptions, potential of increased noise level and some discomfort due to cool temperatures.
Physical Demands
- Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds on a consistent basis.
