OB/GYN Hospitalist in White Plains , New York at White Plains Hospital

The OB/GYN Hospitalist provides obstetrical and gynecological care and consultation to inpatients, the Emergency Department (ED), and those arriving in Labor and Delivery. The OB/GYN Hospitalist will provide patient assessment and triage, coordinate care with the patient's OB/GYN, care for unassigned patients, perform emergency deliveries, assist with surgical procedures, and provide OB/GYN consultation for inpatients and patients in the Emergency Department as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provides assessment and triage of obstetric patients in coordination with the patient's assigned physician.
• Provides general obstetric and gynecological care according to ACOG and accepted standards of practice.
• Confers with assigned and consulting physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, support staff, patients, and families concerning treatment and care of patients. Makes appropriate specialty and sub-specialty referrals, but maintains responsibility, assuring continuing of care.
• Provides obstetric and gynecological consultation within the Hospital as assigned.
• Perform general gynecological and obstetric surgical procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, using both minimally invasive and traditional surgical techniques.
• Participates in health promotion/disease prevention activities. Stresses the importance of preventive health care measures.
• Completes records in adequate professional detail, and in a timely manner using the electronic medical record system.
• Provide a seamless transition to the outpatient practice and facilitate the transfer of care to appropriate physicians/services.
• Maintains and acquires knowledge and skills to perform required duties to meet all hospital, state, organizational and licensure requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Medical Degree - MD or DO and a valid NYS Medical License
• Completion of an OB/GYN Residency and/or Fellowship program.
• Board Certified or eligible in OB/GYN

• Proficiency in all procedures, techniques and skills listed in the delineation of privileges as required for area of specialty.
• Meet and maintain compliance with all requirements for Medical Staff privileges at White Plains Hospital.
• Compliance with CME requirements (Hospital, Regional, State, and Federal)
• Demonstrates excellence in clinical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership ability
