JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for processing all aspects of payroll, ensuring all pay is processed in an accurate and timely manner while in compliance with government regulations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform duties and responsibilities with integrity and in a professional, fair, open-minded, ethical, and timely manner.
  • Process all aspects of payroll, including timecards, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating and verifying the accuracy of payroll data.
  • Prepare reports and payments for employer- and employee-paid benefit costs such as union dues, pension, health insurance, flexible spending, and workers' compensation.
  • Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
  • Issue, or reissue, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Interpret company policies and government regulations in connection with payroll and tax procedures.
  • Review and validate the accuracy of payroll tax postings to the general ledger and support reconciliation of payroll accounts.
  • Support DCAA requirements and audits.
  • Support all internal and external audits.
  • Provide ad hoc management reports and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to meet deadlines; maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
  • Strong professional interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma. Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of payroll processing experience, to include understanding payroll compliance.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate degree in Accounting, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
    • Experience working with Costpoint and UKG.
    • Experience working in government contracting and Davis-Bacon labor standards.

    LOCATION:

    This role will be on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office) and can be located out of our Anchorage, AK., Arlington, VA., Colorado Springs, CO, or Reston, VA. offices.

    SALARY:

    $75K to $90K depending upon experience level.
