Overview

The Strategic & Operations Support Coordinator serves as a key operational and project support resource for the FirstHealth Strategy & Innovation Department. This role provides administrative, logistical, and operational support for strategic initiatives, physician and clinic relationships, acquisition integration activities, community outreach programs, and departmental projects aimed at advancing organizational growth and innovation.

The coordinator works closely with the Manager, Strategic Relationships and Lung Bus Operations to support provider engagement, clinic onboarding and transition efforts, community partnerships, event coordination, project implementation, and cross-functional initiatives across the health system. This position plays an integral role in ensuring strategic initiatives are executed efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

In addition to supporting Strategy & Innovation initiatives, this role serves as the logistics coordinator and driver for the FirstHealth Lung Bus program. Responsibilities include transportation and management of the mobile screening unit, location logistics, operational readiness, site assessments, and support of community-based lung cancer screening events.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, service-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple priorities while supporting strategic, operational, and community outreach efforts across the organization.



Responsibilities

Strategic Operations & Project Support

  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives and operational projects within the Strategy & Innovation Department.
  • Assist Strategy team as needed with project logistics, timelines, deliverables, and follow-up activities to support departmental objectives.
  • Support special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
  • Monitor and track action items related to strategic initiatives and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Support physician practice acquisitions, affiliations, and clinic integration projects as needed.
  • Assist with facility transition logistics including transportation of materials, equipment, signage, and operational resources.
  • Participate in site visits, clinic assessments, and operational readiness activities related to acquisitions and expansion efforts.

Strategic Relationship Support

  • Assist the Manager, Strategic Relationships and Lung Bus Operations in maintaining positive relationships with providers, practice administrators, clinic leaders, and community partners.
  • Help track integration milestones and follow-up activities associated with strategic growth initiatives.
  • Assist with provider engagement activities and relationship-building efforts across the health system.
  • Support community outreach initiatives designed to strengthen partnerships and expand access to care.
  • Provide on-site support for community events, outreach programs, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Assist with planning, setup, logistics, transportation, and execution of departmental events.
  • Coordinate event materials, equipment, promotional items, and operational resources.
  • Serve as a professional representative of FirstHealth at community and stakeholder events.
  • Support outreach activities that promote FirstHealth services, strategic initiatives, and community partnerships.

Lung Bus Operations & Transportation

  • Safely operate the FirstHealth Lung Bus throughout the service area in accordance with DOT regulations, organizational policies, and safety standards.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate operational readiness, accessibility, parking requirements, utility needs, and logistical considerations for screening events.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules and travel logistics for Lung Bus deployments.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain required documentation.
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, stocked, and operationally ready for scheduled events.
  • Coordinate maintenance, service appointments, and repairs through the Fleet Maintenance department and external vendors. *This role is not required to have maintenance experience.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Fleet Maintenance and Lung Bus leadership regarding vehicle readiness and maintenance needs.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of screening events, including tents, signage, power connections, and support equipment.
  • Support operation of the mobile screening unit and assist clinical staff as needed.
  • Track inventory, supplies, and operational readiness requirements for mobile events.
  • Monitor weather and travel conditions to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
  • Support patient flow, visitor engagement, tours, and event logistics while the Lung Bus is on-site.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, service documentation, and activity reports.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with Strategy & Innovation team and other FirstHealth departments and community organizations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive organizational and business information.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in supporting evolving departmental priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Strategy & Innovation Department and FirstHealth organizational objectives.


Qualifications

Required

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record. Class A preferred, Class B with air-brake endorsement will be accepted.
  • Minimum two (2) years of professional driving experience.
  • Experience operating heavy-duty; large vehicles preferred.
  • Experience driving a 10-speed, manual stick shift.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating projects, operations, logistics, events, or administrative activities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout the FirstHealth service area.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt easily and work as a member of a fast-paced, highly focused team.

Preferred, Not Required

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience supporting healthcare operations, strategic initiatives, acquisitions, physician relations, or project management activities.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience.
