About Highlight Health

Self-funded health plans pay out billions of dollars in claims every year with little independent verification that the price was right. Highlight Health gives plan sponsors that verification before the check clears: independent, documented review of what their plans are asked to pay, and a defensible record of that diligence. Fiduciary duty has always been the law; we make it provable.

Position Summary

As our Client Success Manager, Strategic Accounts, you make sure our clients have claims flowing, savings documented, and a record their trustees and committees can stand behind. Our most strategic relationships expect an extension of their own team: someone who knows their claims, the industry, and how to apply our process. You own the service with the largest plan sponsors we serve, including major self-funded employers, Taft-Hartley health and welfare funds, and government plans, and the stop-loss carriers and third-party administrators whom they partner with. Your success measures are retention and growth, earned through the results of every client, one relationship at a time.

The Results You Own

  • Retention across strategic accounts. You own retention health, renewal execution, and forecasting claims for your accounts. Commercial changes at renewal are led by the strategic account lead; your intelligence drives the timing.
  • A claims specialist at the client's side. You work with our claims team on complex and high-dollar claims, walk the client through findings and options on their behalf, and escalate when a decision needs the team, so our reviewers stay on the claims.
  • Forecasts and business reviews the client acts on. You build each account's claim-volume and savings forecast and prepare quarterly business reviews with the strategic account lead: evidence a trustee board or benefits committee can act on.
  • Partner relationships that perform. You own the service and performance relationship with our stop-loss carrier and TPA partners: reporting quality, operational health, team enablement, and the escalated integration and scoping questions that arise as a partner extends our work.
  • Clients who are never surprised. You own the fiduciary intelligence motion: monitoring federal and state regulatory developments, litigation precedent, network intelligence, and market flags, and turning them into account-specific briefings, so they learn it from us first and can show their board they knew.
  • A documented record of success. You quantify performance, savings, and satisfaction by account and package it into performance reviews, case studies, and the evidence clients use to demonstrate their own diligence.
  • A relationship map that is always true. You know each account better than its vendors do, and our CRM shows it: the executive owner, the claim-flow enablers, the invoice contact, expectations, and what is blocking more value.

How You Will Operate

  • Serve fiduciaries as a peer. You bring the presence and command of the subject matter to engage trustees, fund administrators, benefits executives, and TPA operators as peers, in the language of fiduciary duty for ERISA plans and public stewardship for government sponsors.
  • Treat claim flow as each account's vital sign. When expected claims are not arriving, you find the blocker and drive the unlock, whether a contact, a process, or an integration gap.
  • Be the single escalation point. After go-live, performance, billing, integration, and reporting issues escalate to you, and you own the resolution path across our internal teams.
  • Work in the system of record. Every interaction, contact, expectation, and issue lives in the CRM the day it happens. Your work is auditable any day, because the record is the work.
  • Feed what you learn back. Client questions, market signals, claims patterns, and success evidence flow from your accounts into our go-to-market engine and forecast.
  • Cover more than a traditional load, by design. AI tools multiply your preparation, monitoring, and briefing production so your time goes where only a human adds value.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years in client success, account management, claims, or client-facing consulting serving self-funded health plans, TPAs, stop-loss carriers, or the surrounding benefits ecosystem.
  • Working knowledge of claim review: how high-dollar claims are reviewed, repriced, and resolved, and how to explain findings and options to a client.
  • Fluency in self-funded plan economics across plan sponsors, TPAs, stop-loss carriers, and brokers, with ERISA fundamentals and the judgment to adapt fiduciary language for public-sector plans.
  • Direct experience serving trustees, fund administrators, or senior benefits executives, with the credibility and presence to engage them as a peer.
  • You build forecasts and performance analyses from claims data and can defend them.
  • A documented record of retained and renewed high-value client relationships and the outcomes behind them.
  • You already use AI tools daily to multiply your client coverage, and you can show us how.
  • Disciplined CRM hygiene: your last portfolio could be audited from the system alone.

Preferred

  • Taft-Hartley or public-sector plan sponsor service; payment integrity, cost containment, stop-loss, or claims operations; standing up performance reporting or business review programs that others now run.

What You Bring

Genuine curiosity about how healthcare payment actually works; hands-on engagement with claims, data, and results; a bias toward action that fixes things before you are asked; data-driven judgment that brings evidence, not impressions; high integrity that protects the client's trust and the record; composure with trustees and executives; an owner's mindset across accounts that are genuinely yours; and comfort in a high-growth environment where the playbook is evolving.

Compensation Philosophy

This role carries a competitive base salary and a quarterly bonus plan tied to client success outcomes: retention, claim flow, client satisfaction, and the documented results our clients count on. Pay follows the outcomes you protect. That structure mirrors how we work with our clients; we win when they do.

Why Join Highlight Health

It's time for the people writing the checks to know the price is right before they pay it. You will keep that promise for the clients whose trust our category is built on, at an early-stage company with real revenue, a small team, and direct access to leadership. As our Client Success Manager, Strategic Accounts, you will protect the relationships behind it: serving the funds, employers, and partners who count on it with independent review, real savings, and a record that proves it.
