Manager, Revenue & Order to Cash - Finance

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Revenue & Order to Cash - Finance based in Canada.

As the Manager, Revenue & Order to Cash, you will own the critical financial processes that connect closed deals to collected cash.
You will oversee revenue accounting, billing operations, accounts receivable, collections, and the systems that support the revenue cycle.
Leading a high-performing team of three, you will combine people leadership with hands-on operational and technical ownership.
Your work will ensure subscription revenue is accurately recognized, invoices are issued correctly, and cash is collected efficiently and compliantly.
You will also drive automation, improve CRM-to-ERP processes, and reduce manual exceptions across the revenue engine.
Working closely with Finance, Revenue Operations, and Customer Success, you will play a central role in strategic transformation projects.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a finance leader who thrives in a fast-moving SaaS environment and enjoys solving complex problems end to end.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead month-end revenue close activities, including revenue journals, deferred revenue schedules, reconciliations, and variance analysis, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Own the revenue layer within NetSuite and ensure system reliability, data integrity, and continuous improvement across revenue-related processes.
  • Manage the order-to-invoice cycle across multiple billing entities, maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable indirect tax requirements.
  • Drive improvements in DSO and collections performance by identifying and resolving root causes across the CRM-to-ERP workflow.
  • Lead and develop a team of three professionals responsible for billing, cash application, accounts receivable, and collections.
  • Set priorities, make operational decisions, remove blockers, and ensure the team can execute efficiently without unnecessary micromanagement.
  • Reduce manual exceptions and repetitive work by introducing automation and AI-enabled workflows across finance and revenue operations.
  • Monitor subscription billing processes, renewals, amendments, deferred revenue, and the connection between commercial activity and recognized revenue.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Revenue Operations, Customer Success, and other cross-functional teams to resolve upstream issues and improve the overall revenue cycle.
  • Coordinate key Finance-led initiatives, including tax optimization and the review and evolution of the revenue technology stack.
  • Evaluate integrations between payment processors, subscription billing platforms, tax engines, CRM systems, and ERP infrastructure.
  • Provide Finance leadership with clear reporting, insights, and recommendations regarding revenue performance, operational efficiency, and process improvements.
Requirements:
  • 7–10 years of finance experience, including at least 3 years in revenue accounting, billing operations, finance operations, or a similar role within a SaaS or subscription-based business.
  • Strong understanding of subscription revenue mechanics, including recurring billing, contract amendments, renewals, deferred revenue, and the relationship between ARR and recognized revenue.
  • Solid knowledge of ASPE revenue recognition, particularly Section 3400, within a subscription business; experience with IFRS 15 or ASC 606 is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite, ideally including Advanced Revenue Management, or an equivalent ERP system.
  • Experience with subscription billing platforms such as Recurly, Zuora, Maxio, or similar solutions.
  • Practical knowledge of indirect and sales tax processes in a SaaS environment, including invoice application and return filing; Avalara experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated people-management experience, including setting priorities, coaching team members, developing talent, and making sound operational decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of identifying root causes and improving processes rather than relying on downstream fixes.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Revenue Operations, Customer Success, and other business stakeholders.
  • Active and practical use of AI tools in finance or operations, with a mindset focused on integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities can evolve.
  • CPA designation is an asset.
Benefits:
  • Base salary of $120,000–$150,000 CAD, with final offers adjusted according to regional market conditions within Canada.
  • Annual bonus program.
  • Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP), providing an opportunity to participate in long-term company growth.
  • RRSP program.
  • Family health insurance.
  • Telemedicine services.
  • Annual wellness budget.
  • Flexible vacation policy.
  • Fully remote work, with access to an office in Montreal.
  • In-person team gatherings twice a year.
  • Access to Claude for all employees.
  • Opportunity to lead meaningful revenue transformation initiatives in a growing SaaS environment.
  • High degree of ownership and direct impact across finance operations, systems, and team development.
