Job Description
Senior Fullstack Engineer (Flutter/Node.js) - Mobile Experience
As a Senior Mobile Engineer in the Mobile Experience crew (Application Platform tribe), you will deliver high-performance, critical features for the MarineTraffic and Kpler mobile apps — B2C products serving millions of users — using Flutter, Dart and Mapbox. You will also help design and evolve our mobile Backend-for-Frontend (Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS): a production-critical service designed to scale and sustain the full load of the mobile applications.
You will join a squad at the forefront of AI-assisted engineering, where 100% of deployed code is authored by AI under your orchestration — a modern environment for engineers who want to redefine software delivery through advanced AI tooling. The squad is close-knit and multidisciplinary: 2 Senior Engineers, 1 Mid-level Engineer, 1 EM, 1 PM, 1 Designer.Key ResponsbilitiesRequirements

- Develop complex, production-ready features for the MarineTraffic and Kpler apps, upholding Clean Architecture standards and translating platform conventions (Apple HIG, Material) into polished, native-feeling, accessible experiences.
- Design and evolve the mobile BFF (Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS) as a primary, scalable component serving all mobile needs.
- Act as a quality guardian: code reviews, automated test suites (unit, integration, contract), observability, and continuously improved CI/CD and engineering practices.
- Contribute to product and UX decisions alongside the PM and Designer — owning outcomes, not just code.
- Maintain and optimise the AI/LLM tooling stack (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) so agents write code autonomously to the team's standards.
- Mentor peers, contribute to the Front-end Chapter, and support business teams' autonomy over their functional scopes as part of the crew's platformisation strategy.
Essential:
- At least 5 years working experience.
- Strong experience building and shipping consumer (B2C) mobile applications at scale, serving over a million users.
- Solid hands-on experience shipping complex Flutter & Dart applications in production.
- Solid experience with Node.js/TypeScript and GraphQL API design for services operating at scale.
- Excellent knowledge of mobile architecture, performance, testing and observability, with a strong Clean Code and Clean Architecture culture.
- Strong understanding of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and the ability to translate them into polished, accessible user experiences.
- Product judgement: experience contributing to product and UX decisions with PMs and designers, rather than simply implementing specifications.
- Professional-level English (written and spoken).
Desirable:
- Experience in a platform engineering or inner-source context; GraphQL federation.
- Geospatial experience (Mapbox, PostGIS) or exposure to Kafka, Airflow, GeoServer.
