About the Role:
The Touchup Technician in Manufactured Housing plays a critical role in ensuring the final quality and aesthetic appeal of manufactured homes before they reach customers. This position focuses on identifying and correcting minor imperfections, such as scratches, dents, paint inconsistencies, and other surface defects that may occur during the manufacturing process. The technician works closely with the production and quality control teams to maintain high standards and ensure that each home meets company specifications and customer expectations. Attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship are essential, as the role directly impacts customer satisfaction and the overall reputation of the manufacturer. Ultimately, this role contributes to delivering a finished product that is both visually appealing and structurally sound, ready for installation and occupancy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in painting, finishing, or touchup work, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of paint types, application techniques, and surface preparation.
- Ability to work standing for extended periods and perform manual tasks requiring dexterity.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience specifically in manufactured housing or modular home production.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to construction and painting.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or quality checklists.
- Experience using spray equipment and other specialized finishing tools.
- Certification or training in paint application or surface finishing.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect manufactured housing units for surface defects including paint blemishes, scratches, dents, and other imperfections.
- Perform touchup painting and minor repairs using appropriate tools and materials to restore surfaces to a high-quality finish.
- Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and handled safely.
- Document completed work and report any significant defects or concerns to supervisors for further action.
