- Must have or be willing to obtainServeSafe-Basic Concepts in Food Safety Certification and PersonInCharge certification.
Position Summary: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Ensure that the food served meets or exceeds the Department for Public Health standards.
Skill Sets: Demonstrate good oral and written communication. Must use organizational skills to prioritize daily tasks. Have a positive attitude. Understand key business and quality standards related to food, service, and cleanliness.
Physical and Environmental Demands: Kitchens are located within active, residential substance abuse treatment facilities. Sitting, standing, bending, and lifting are required movements for this position. Visual and manual dexterity are required for meal preparation. Possible exposure to communicable diseases during contact with individuals released from various locations i.e., jails, hospitals, unsanitary conditions, rehabilitation centers, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide quality customer service to personnel,personsserved, families,and stakeholders.
- Gaina thorough knowledge of our recipes and food preparation procedures touphold standards between facilities.
- Helpmaintainthe health, safety,and welfare of personnel, persons served,and stakeholders.
- Assistin the quality assurance of the agency
- Assistinmaintainingcompliancewith the State/Federal Licensure Requirements.
- Responsible for food safetyandfood preparation.
- Manage food quality standards by consistentlymonitoringfoodtemperatureandensuring properstorage.
- Ensure consistent andaccuraterecords are keptfor therefrigerator/freezertemperaturelogs.
- Discuss special diet needs with medical staff and personnel.
- Ensurethecleanlinessof the kitchen and appliancesanddocumentvia daily kitchen checklist.
- Manage inventory rotation and product storage standards.
- Maintaintheday-to-dayoperations of the kitchen
- Ensureandmaintainresident confidentiality and adhere toHIPAA (Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act)regulations.
- Maintaincompliance with local health department regulationsregardingcertificationsand permits
- Ensure signage is displayed appropriately
- Verify and document inventory received, product used, and lost productin accordance withkitchen operations best practices.
- Must meet the requirements to perform CPR/First Aid.
- Other duties as assigned
