Job Description

Description:

Location: Oxford, MI (on-site)

At Warnke Precision Machining, you'll have the opportunity to own and improve the manufacturing processes behind highly complex components used in aerospace and defense applications. As an AS9100D-certified precision machine shop and subsidiary of Palladyne AI, we partner directly with major industry primes to deliver mission-critical hardware where quality, precision, and reliability are non-negotiable. From advanced 5-axis machining centers to hands-on production support, our team takes pride in solving difficult manufacturing challenges and seeing our work contribute to systems that support national security and defense readiness.

We're looking for an experienced Process Engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and continuous improvement. In this role, you'll drive process development from concept through production, creating manufacturing plans, optimizing workflows, designing fixtures, improving quality and efficiency, and supporting the successful launch of new products. As our business continues to grow, you'll have significant ownership, visibility, and influence over how work gets done—making a direct impact on both our operations and the customers who rely on us.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, layouts, and engineering documentation for machined components.
  • Create process models, drawings, and manufacturing packages using CAD systems for production and inspection.
  • Design fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing methods to support efficient, high-quality production.
  • Coordinate product launches and support production from initial release through ongoing manufacturing.
  • Partner with Quality to define inspection requirements, implement process controls, and optimize customer requirements.
  • Review product designs and manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Perform product and process analysis, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate, develop, source, and justify equipment, tooling, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Manage workflow and priorities between Engineering, Programming, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Provide technical leadership, support other engineers, and contribute to special projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of process engineering experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and manufacturing methods
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • Familiarity with CAM systems and manufacturing workflows
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred

  • Experience working with ferrous, non-ferrous, and superalloy materials.
  • Experience with JobBoss2 or similar ERP systems.

Compensation Philosophy

We believe providing employees with competitive pay and a range of meaningful benefits is the start of creating a culture where people want to give the best they’ve got — not because they’re simply making money, but because they’ve fallen in love with our vision, mission, values, and team.

During the interview process, your Recruiter will review our total rewards (base, potential equity, bonus, perks, benefit, culture). The final offer is determined by your proficiencies within our leveling.

Culture

As part of the broader Palladyne AI family, you'll also be connected to a company focused on advancing the future of automation and robotics. Our culture is built on trust, accountability, collaboration, and a shared commitment to meaningful work. If you're passionate about manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement, and contributing to products that matter, we'd love to meet you.
