Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers has beautiful state-of-the-art integrated Cancer and Women's Centers, with locations strategically located throughout the Valley. Position Summary:
Works under the supervision and guidance of the Office Manager, the front office team lead is responsible for the overall flow and efficiency of all front office procedures. Coordinates and supervises the activities of all front office roles to include check-in, check-out I & II and supporting coverage as needed. Performs job duties and responsibilities in compliance with company policies and procedures. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. This is a Monday-Friday position in our Goodyear location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Is the subject matter expert for all front office positions (check-in, and check-out I & II), functions, tasks, and duties.Fills-in as needed to insure proper coverage.Coordinates daily clinic front office coverage; distributes work equally amongst team. Ensures staff is crossed trained so we always have backup/coverage.Assists Office Manager in monitoring daily performance of Front Office team; coaches and develops employees to ensure productivity and quality of workCollaborates with Office Manager in the onboarding and training of new employees.Works in conjunction with the Office Manager to ensure that new hire front office staff is adequately trained and consistently following the applicable Front office operating procedures and workflows. Leads by example, motivates, and supports staff. Provide input for OM/Supervisor in 30-60-90-day reviews.Alongside the Office Manager, holds monthly 1:1 meetings with Front Office as well as weekly Team meetings as applicable.Assists Office Manager with leadership responsibilities for the front desk team, as well as audits, process improvement initiatives and changes regarding insurance, company policies, etc.Responsible for monitoring the waiting room area and ensuring all patients have been taken care of and assisted in a timely manner. Inform patients of extended wait times and/or schedule changesCollaborates with office manager to ensure the completion of daily reconciliation, daily deposit balancing, counting cash, preparing bank deposit for pickup, ensure no discrepancies remain unresolved, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of HIPAA rules & regulations preferred.Knowledge of insurance company’s procedures and policies preferred.Knowledge of governmental, legal and regulatory provisions related to collection activities.Knowledge of diagnostic testing and radiation procedures. Knowledge of CPT, ICD, HCPCS coding preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Internet.Ability to operate a computer and office equipment.Excellent customer service skills.Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.Basic mathematical knowledge.
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum three years medical office experience including supervisory experience. Medical Oncology experience preferred.
