Now Hiring: Staff Psychiatrist (Part-Time/Contract)

Join Our Team
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Psychiatrist to join our pioneering team and help deliver exceptional, evidence-based psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.

About SABI Mind
SABI Mind was founded in response to the global mental health crisis and the significant therapeutic potential of psychedelic medicines. We are a dedicated, practitioner-led organization providing safe, evidence-based, and accessible psychedelic-assisted therapies for individuals who have found conventional treatments ineffective or who are seeking new pathways to healing.

Our core philosophy is built on human connection: it is people healing people. Through empathy in action, our team of trained medical professionals delivers leading-edge ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for treatment-resistant mental health conditions.

How you can help and what we can accomplish together
As our Staff Psychiatrist, you will be a key clinical leader, entrusted to conduct comprehensive assessments and provide expert medical oversight for our patients. Your clinical judgment will be essential in determining patient eligibility for our ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) programs. Together, we can provide a critical and validated treatment option for those in need, operating within the highest standards of medical care and compliance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive initial psychiatric and physical health evaluations to diagnose conditions and assess suitability for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP).

  • Exercise sound clinical judgment to determine patient eligibility for treatment, ensuring they meet specific diagnostic and safety criteria.

  • Develop, monitor, and adjust individualized treatment plans in collaboration with our interdisciplinary care team.

  • Prescribe and manage controlled medications in strict compliance with clinic protocols, federal regulations, and provincial psychedelic treatment standards.

  • Provide ongoing psychiatric follow-up care to monitor patient progress and treatment response.

  • Ensure all patient encounters and decisions are documented accurately and completely in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

  • Provide expert psychiatric consultation and guidance to our therapy and nursing teams during clinical rounds.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Active, in-good-standing practice permit with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) in Psychiatry, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of independent psychiatric practice.

  • Substantial clinical experience in mental health care, including the assessment and treatment of complex psychiatric disorders.

  • Practical experience and expertise in psychedelic medicine, including familiarity with the pharmacology and therapeutic applications of psychedelics.

  • Completion of specialized training or certifications in psychedelic-assisted therapy protocols is highly desirable.

  • Unwavering commitment to patient safety, privacy, and ethical practice.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
