Description:
The Quality Technician is responsible for assessing the performance and quality of Racemark’s Tier One Suppliers to ensure both customer and Racemark requirements are being maintained. Identify, analyze, and document all defects and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specifications. Present a thorough understanding of Racemark’s Quality System with the ability to communicate those requirements to an auditor and to our suppliers.
Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision; organized; focused and be self-motivated.
Main Objectives:
- Learn or have understanding of IATF 16949; ISO 9001:2015 QMS (Quality Management System)
- Process non-conforming material includes processing hold tickets, return goods notices, non-conforming material reports and scrap product.
- Working knowledge of computer usage: Outlook, Excel, and Word software applications.
- Responsible for ensuring all test and measurement equipment are calibrated as required.
- Test and measurement equipment used in quality and production.
- Basic understanding of statistical process controls.
- Perform inspections for incoming, in-process and final packaged goods. Perform Taber tests and follow curl testing procedure.
- Understanding of color interpretation and distinction.
- Read and understand specifications and drawings for materials and products.
- Understand and complete quality documentation such as completion of 1st Piece Inspection, Pull Test, Internal Audits, enter Production Scrap daily, issue Quality Alerts.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience working in a lean manufacturing environment with a background in Quality Assurance.
- Must be strong in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Maintain and update graphs, pie charts, SPC data. Prefer ability to perform dimensional studies, capability studies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to push, pull, stand, bend, twist, stoop, and lift at least 50 LBS.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with other team members.
- Multi-task & computer literate.
- Read, write, speak English, and understand basic math concepts.
Responsible for any other assignments deemed necessary to fulfil the needs of the Quality Department.
