The Core Banking Officer is responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimization, and support of the Bank's core processing system and related ancillary applications. This position serves as the primary liaison between business units, technology personnel, and core service providers to ensure the system effectively supports operational, customer, regulatory, and strategic objectives. The Core Banking Officer serves as a key resource for system functionality, process improvement, product implementation, vendor coordination, and user support.


Essential Functions

Core Administration & Platform Management

Manage the Bank’s deposit account opening platform, ensuring effective administration, security, functionality, and alignment with business objectives, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Oversee user access and role management, including the addition, modification, and removal of internal users, ensuring appropriate segregation of duties and adherence to established security controls.

Coordinate with department management to review, develop, and maintain product specifications, deposit rates, transaction codes, relationships, and other system configurations. Ensure timely and accurate implementation of approved changes.

Manage the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of consumer and commercial deposit account opening forms and disclosures, workflows, and processes to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and customer experience.

Coordinate with and support activities with core banking and technology vendors, including the initiation, prioritization, tracking, and resolution of system issues, enhancements, change requests, and complex troubleshooting matters.

Establish, maintain, and enhance procedures related to deposit systems and processes.

Serve as a subject-matter expert and key resource for internal departments for deposit account systems, workflows, reporting, and related operational processes.

Monitor operational risks and control effectiveness within assigned areas and proactively implement corrective actions and process improvements.

Support strategic initiatives, system implementations, conversions, upgrades, and other projects affecting deposit operations, account opening, reporting, or document management.

Reporting, Data & Document Administration

Provide leadership and oversight for the development, maintenance, and delivery of advanced reporting solutions supporting operational management, senior management, compliance and Board reporting requirements.

Oversee and create, maintain, and perform quality control of forms and templates, ensuring calculations, functionality, formatting, and supporting documentation operate accurately and comply with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Manage and configure document management systems, including document storage, retrieval, access, retention, and disposition, in accordance with Bank policies, legal requirements, and records-management standards.

Partner with departments including Retail, Operations, IT and Compliance to identify reporting and documentation needs and deliver effective solutions.

Establish and maintain documentation, procedures, and governance standards for critical reports, forms, workflows, and system configurations to support continuity, auditability, and operational resilience.

Work Environment


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.


Physical Demands


Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time exempt position, hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.


Required Education and Experience


Minimum 10 years of Bank operations experience with progressive responsibilities

Minimum 5 years of experience optimizing platform configurations and designing workflows

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Demonstrated experience with core implementations

Demonstrated experience performing core system and perimeter maintenance

Demonstrated ability to make decisions

Ability to manage multiple priorities

Strong analytical skills

Strong critical thinking skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills


Preferred Education and Experience


Proficient Microsoft Office applications skills (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
