Position Overview:
Ensure equipment reliability by following good maintenance practices in repairs, inspections, preventive and predictive maintenance, as well as following the appropriate standards for new equipment installation.
What you will be doing:
- Prepares work orders received on the computer program, RCS. These orders indicate malfunction of equipment or structures. Upon receipt of verbal or written orders, performs communication with area/unit supervisors regarding the request.
- Interface with the scheduler on upcoming schedules.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in resolution of problems as stated on the work order. Directs weekly safety meetings or work issues prior to giving employees work orders of the day.
- Established or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines and equipment.
- Reviews plant usage schedules and records of maintenance production efficiency and equipment reliability to conform to quality control standards.
- Confers with other supervisors to assess emergency request and prioritizes request to meet customer needs.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations for department team and visitors.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, loop sheets, one lines, and job orders to workers, and assign duties accordingly.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Also suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department and/or worker.
- Train workers in safety procedures. Daily monitoring of safety performance within the department.
- Develop appropriate safety training for personnel regarding changes in procedures and accountability.
- Participates in the Management of Change (MOC) process for all new or modified standards of procedures.
- Assist with root-cause analysis and identify required department tasks based on analysis results.
- Confers with other supervisors and vendors during pre-turnaround planning to coordinate equipment inspections.
- Analyzes and resolves production or equipment problems as needed.
- Performs other duties/projects as specified by supervisor, and parameters are indicative to average requirements that are not inclusive based on change in operational, safety, or environmental factors.
- Maintenance call-duty throughout the year, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Min of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance within the chemical and/or oil/gas industry
- Transportation Worker’s Identification Credentials (TWIC)
- Applies principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.
- Computes ratio, proportion, percentages, and calculates surfaces, volumes, weights, and measures. Calculates plane and solid figures, circumference, area, and volume. Understands kinds of angles, and properties of pairs and angles.
