Architectural Sheet Metal Apprentice

As a sheet metal worker with Warren Roofing, you will become part of a team of stellar employees who are highly valued and skilled. As a member of our team, you will plan, lay out, repair and install sheet metal products and parts. You will get to put your technical and mathematical skills to use by operating tools and machines and taking measurements according to blueprints. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install gutter and gutter related products and Architectural sheet metal systems on customers' properties, both residential and commercial.
• Follow instructions in installing products to standards outlined in work order or contract.
• Knowledge on use of hand tools and basic power tools.
• Install pre-fab and custom fabricated sheet metal flashing, commercial gutter and paneling.
• Shop fabrication.
• Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to required dimensions.
• Connect pieces or secure seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
• Maintain clean and orderly work space.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Must exhibit professional conduct and pride in your work.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Education/Experience/ Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be comfortable with heights and daily ladder work.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in most weather conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner, promote the organization in a positive and productive discipline which serves as an example to others.
• Other critical skills include; problem identification/resolution, multi-tasking, follow-through skills to bring tasks to closure, priority setting, and having a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks in a timely manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, type or feel, climb ladder, bend; kneel, talk and hear. Employees are also required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop and kneel. Employees must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Employees are required to work 8 hour shifts per day. Start times are between 5:00 – 9:00 am.
• Employees are required to attend day/night school to maintain union recognition.
• Must be comfortable working on flat and/or sloped roofs.
• Employees must wear safety harness and required PPE.
