This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Solutions Consultant, Higher Education based in United States.
This is a senior pre-sales role focused on helping higher education and enterprise customers turn complex technical needs into compelling, practical solutions. You will serve as the technical backbone of the sales cycle, partnering closely with Account Executives from discovery through contract signature. The role combines consultative selling, solution design, technical demonstrations, integrations, and executive-level communication. You will translate customer requirements into architectures and proposals that clearly demonstrate business value. Working across Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Solution Architecture, you will also influence product direction through customer and market insights. The environment is fast-moving and highly collaborative, with AI used extensively to accelerate research, discovery, technical responses, and solution development.
- Own the technical narrative throughout the sales cycle, serving as the primary pre-sales technical expert alongside Account Executives.
- Lead discovery sessions to uncover technical requirements, integration needs, business objectives, and underlying customer challenges.
- Design and deliver tailored product demonstrations and solution proposals aligned with each prospect's specific use cases.
- Translate complex technical questions and objections into clear, confident explanations for both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
- Develop solution architectures, data mappings, and integration plans across platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, PayPal, and Zapier.
- Provide technical leadership for RFP and RFI responses, ensuring solutions accurately address compliance and security requirements including PCI DSS and GDPR.
- Share customer and market insights with Solution Architecture and Product teams to help shape future product development.
- Enable Sales teams through product training, technical knowledge sharing, and competitive positioning.
- Use AI as a core part of the role to accelerate discovery notes, technical responses, research, and demo prototyping while continuously improving AI fluency.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, or technical consulting within SaaS, fintech, nonprofit technology, or a related environment.
- Proven experience working with Higher Education organizations and enterprise customers managing large ARR relationships.
- Hands-on knowledge of APIs, webhooks, data integrations, data mapping, and technical solution scoping.
- Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into compelling technical solutions and clearly communicate their business value.
- Experience with CRM, payment, and marketing automation integrations, particularly Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, PayPal, and Zapier.
- Working knowledge of GDPR, PCI DSS, data security, and privacy best practices.
- Strong presentation, communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills across both technical and executive audiences.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in the nonprofit or fundraising technology sector is a plus.
- Background delivering technical workshops, training, or product enablement is advantageous.
- Experience supporting successful SaaS sales cycles in high-growth environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of website conversion A/B testing is a plus.
- A problem-solving mindset, strong ownership, curiosity, adaptability, and comfort working across functions are essential.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced sales environments while collaborating with Sales, Product, and Solution Architecture teams with a low-ego, team-oriented approach.
