Outpatient Coder in Morehead City, North Carolina at Carteret Health Care

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) preferred, will consider applicant with extensive knowledge and experience coding in a hospital setting. If not current CCS on hire, must become credentialed within 1 year of employment and must maintain credentials on a permanent basis.

Extensive knowledge of computers, encoders, Medical Terminology, Disease processes, Pharmacology and body systems required.

Working knowledge of basic office equipment ex. Laser Printer, FAX machine, copy machine, etc.

Inpatient coders must have knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, CPT and DRG’s

Outpatient coders must have knowlege of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, APC’s and HCPCs.
